You have to remember Rangi Chase was Rhubarb when he 1st came over here. TBH John isnt that bad now, he's had plenty of assists and weighed in with a couple of tries. The kid needs a season under his belt before we discard him.

Yeah you're right, Chase was poor in his first game London at home, subbed off. So it took him all of one game to come good, think he played off the bench the week after when we beat wigan away. Not the worst piece of rhubarb.

I’ve no doubt Smith has the ability, at the end of the day he beat Greg Inglis to win rookie of the year in Australia a few years back. You have question whether he will ever be able to perform on a consistent basis considering his illness. I’m sure when his heads right and playing behind a decent go forward pack he could produce real quality standard rugby.

Smith is only as good as the players around him. He has great vision which sometimes goes to waste.

Unlike some of our so called fans who clearly have no vision when they chose to boo him off against Wire cos it was obviously all his fault we had capitulated in the 2nd half! What a difference a week makes.

Smith is a class act. Give him the choice of 3 runners and 9 times out of ten he will pick out the right ball. Smith has been trying all season but if he's only got one runner to pass to then its either that or keep hold yourself. A lot of credit on Saturday must go to Sykes as well who performed very well at 6.

Without a doubt he allowed Smith to "do what he does best" and play is own game.

Completely agree. Apart from maybe Hull KR at home given the right platform to work from he normally comes up with something for us. He will only ever be as good as his runners and at times this year (normally in the 2nd half of games) he hasn't had any.

Just watched the game back for the first time. At the game I thought after a shaky start our top 3 players were Smith, Sykes & Raleigh. On reflection I think I was not far off but Aiton was once again outstanding in defence and for the 2nd week running we looked a lot more solid when Bluey was on the field. His tackling technique is second to none and looking at him on the re-run, I'm sure he could do more minutes, maybe when we get a full quota of props back it will help.
