| Quote allmatt="allmatt"I'm sure Sir Rodney will have his reasons for doing this, but I doubt it will be anything to do with Philanthropy.'"
His numerous other donations to various schemes and assosiations based in the district says otherwise.
You could say "he's our Jack Fulton"

The guy is Philanthropist ([ia brief definition for amber and foulmouth-[/isomeone who gives for benefit of the wider community) if there ever has been one.

Now now young man, no need to bracket us with the uneducated louts you spend your matchdays with.
Still wouldnt trust him though, there will be an ulterior motive for the betterment of mr Walker

In what respect would you not trust him? On a personal level? Have you had business dealings with him? Or based on the fact he's just given Trinity £160,000 and it's put your nose out of joint?

| Quote falmouth2010="falmouth2010"I think there is a definite conflict of interest with this guy paying this debt for you, he is also chairman of the community trust and involved with a property development company who possibly have connections with the whole project, no doubt Rodney will get his brass back from somewhere, i would suspect he has probably been used as a conduit by Yorkcourt properties so that they keep Wakefield on the life support machine because if there is NO Wakefield Trinity, then there is no trojan horse sweetener and no massive industrial estate for York Court to flog for fat profits!! i would suggest that this needs watching very closely as i can smell a very big fat cigar smoking port quaffing RAT!!'"
I don't know about anyone else but I feel this post lost credibility with the first two words.
The use of the word 'Rat' is interesting in the fact it sounds very similar to a word which IMHO describes you perfectly.

| What is "soccer"? In my country we have a game called "football", is that to what you are referring?

| Quote JINJER="JINJER"As i've heard it,the tax people hit the little guy (Us)first, when they've hit the little guy they've then set something of a precedent, when that's done they start workin up the ladder to get the fat cats,as Vasty points out, everyone in Super league is gonna be gettin a nock,so i'd keep my mouth firmly shut because it may well be your turn next ambernotyeller!

I would be surprised if you were being used as a "test" case as they have been doing this successfully to football clubs for the last few years. Arsenal were hit with a massive bill. It was one of Gordon Browns policies when he was chancellor.
Apparently some of the clubs saw it coming and did not make these offshore payments or exemptions but most did and will probably be the next to fall under the investigation of HMRC. I understand 2 big clubs should be very very worried about this and look to be facing a potentially massive bill. One of these clubs has a backer who will no doubt foot the bill with ease but the other may very well struggle.

I am not quite sure why you don't just say what you mean mate?
Sir Rodney is Chairman of Goals Soccer Centres [urlhttp://www.goalsfootball.co.uk/[/url and allmatt thinks that Sir Rodney might want to build one at Newmarket.
I am not quite sure why it matters, if he does good luck to him, of course getting planning for one under a reserved matters application would be easy, given that sports facilities are permitted development in green-belt anyway!
