Why because I have never needed to approach the ground from this side. I unfortunately lack your insider knowledge because I am sure you will have been consulted by the previous incumbents on one of your daily conversations about what could be done to the West stand with a budget of £0.
I note you appear very good at making suggestions on how the new owner could spend his money (paying someone to spray the seats before every game). I bet your mate is turning on his sun bed when he reads the words “pay substantial fee”.

| In a perfect world the western terrace would be for home fans and an away stand would be in place of hospitality block (south stand).
The new west stand Id have a media suite double tiered with commentary gantry (where old west stand was) with terracing/ seating either side running full length. Plenty of options nowadays interesting to see what happens.

Yes there is more room down there than people realise and I am sure you could construct something quite good.
However listening to Matt Ellis he said he would like something 'A little different ' down the West side, which is quite intriguing.
I would also hazard a guess that any development would also have to incorporate a media/ camera facility

It will surprise people but the footprint of the west is not much less than the seating area of the new east stand. If you raked the seating (if seated) you could make it the same height. But the people behind could claim a loss of natural light. However we do it, it will have to be clever, or we buy the residents off. Or we accept it’s a summer game, so cover is not a necessity. Truth is you need cover on average about four games a year, so you could risk it. Away fans don’t tend to complain about a lack of cover, it’s the viewing angles they hate. On a bad day there will always be space in the east stand. In other words is it worth it for the very few occasions it causes an issue.

Classic Vastman.
I thought when you did the whole departure lounge thing and announced you were leaving that would be it.
New owner, new positivity. You can do it.

| Any changes to West Stand don't really need doing until at least 2024 if not later.
We are not going to have many in there this year.

To suggest that as a long term Trinity fan that you don’t know what’s behind the West terrace is utterly laughable.
Your overlong outburst just shows I’ve hit a nerve, You don’t half sound like a certain serial moaner from RW&B at times, surely not! He’s got an obsession/jealousy issue regarding previous owners.
Break your heart if got to know Matt Ellis, might happen

| Personally I’d prefer to upgrade the Northstand before touching the west. I look at Headingley as a prime example of looking after your own before looking after the visitors. Long term obviously needs sorting.

Would it not be beneficial though to have whatever we have planned for there to be either done, or in process before the 2025 season starts.
For me, I would go with covered terracing, but the terracing to be more elevated and re laid, with a stand.
I think where ME was going with it was a similar idea to Craven Street, but surely, we'd want our own fans to utilise it, which then asks the question where do away fans go.

He spoke about a Craven Street type of approach in front of the flats.

I don't see that being an issue as most of the sun is from the other side and not the ground side. In fact in the summer months the old East stand was a right sun trap and on sunny evening games you needed sun glasses to see the game. Anyhow you never know, but these are certainly interesting times

| You could leave the terracing then where it flattens at the back create a platform or raised area for media, seats or bars. For a roof, think I’ve read before that the historical height of the old west stand can help get future applications passed if it doesn’t go any higher? Might be wrong just something I’ve heard. Wonder where the funding would also come from as surely that would carry a substantial price to do anything there. But Ellis did say on the radio he wanted it done by 2025 season

| Personally, money permitting, I'd buy all the houses behind the West Stand, remove the right to light isssues, create a fan zone, and go with a lower terrace with seated upper tier. I'd like to get the camera angle as high upmas possible.
