I remember Solly been quoted that we were not the club most at risk. Although I don't recall there ever officially being any confirmation as to who was.

Theres been a few on the last day.

Cant remember the years but since 2000 that I can remember:

Beating Salford away when Bobbie Goulding got sent off for scrapping with Justin Brooker
Waiting on the Pitch at BV waiting to see if Cas could hang on to beat Salford to relegate them instead of us.
Obv the original Million Pound Game vs Cas.

Well you wouldn't as Cas fans are stricken with selective memory, hearing and seeing.

2001 – Beat Salford to put Huddersfield down.

2002 – Beat Warrington & Cas went to Salford needing to win to get in top six. Salford down.

2006 – Cas

2012 – Dear John letter from Crusaders

2015 – Bradford.

Good for another three then icon_lol.gif .

Hmmmm, that's why you were the only Super league club to not have their club house open on the day of the announcements!!. And before you come back, one of my work mates if a Wakey fan and he turned up and was told it wouldn't be open and he talking to the Sky Sports reporter who was there.

That really sounds like a club that was aware they were staying put c020.gif

So your imaginary mate told you all this - well my imaginary Director friend told me days before that he'd been given the nod we were safe.

So who do we believe - me the voice of reason and well respected member of the forum - or you
a person who willingly admits to coming from Castleford.

Let's have a double submission on that one aye c020.gif c020.gif

But you admit you troll. Funny how you respond with something you knew would irritate and annoy.
Maybe you should try the Cas forum to snark and skit?

That's exactly how I remember the situation although I also remember thinking that nothing the RFL says or does can ever be taken at face value!

Quote: vastman "A few month back on the VT some rabid poster was complaining how often we’d avoided the bullet and how we needed to be flushed out of SL. He/she stated that we must be the cat that’s used all it’s 9 lives. Much as I wanted to it was hard to argue with him/her.

So as a matter of interest just how many of our lives have we used up since we were last properly relegated in 1986/87 (I think).

Not just last day hobbies but must win games. For example I recall in 1989/90 season (I think) that we had to beat Halifax in the penultimate game. If we lost it would not have been possible to have overcome their superior points difference or something like that.

Over to you stats guys.'"

Regarding the number of lives, the answer is, as many as it takes.

Trinity's USP over the past 25 years or so, has been to survive against all odds in the top flight.
The Crusaders pulling out of SL was massive.
This season against Bradford and the great escape under Kear are the biggest moments and having to win away at Salford on the last day to survive 2001 ?

This season's escape seemed to upset some of our "friends" over t'common, which added an extra layer to the pleasure of staying up.
They couldn't wait for us to finally be relegated but, it wasn't to be. icon_biggrin.gif

It doesn't matter what is thrown at the club, on field or off field, we seem to have a knack of getting through and defying the odds.

The world had come to gloat at Wakefields ejection from SL but, it wasn't to be.
You don't open the draw bridge when you are under siege d040.gif
