| Quote Mr Bliss="Mr Bliss"That Tim Smith will either get on the bus to Hull Nick or a taxi to the airport.'"
He will NOT be going to prison !!!
As I've posted on other threads...worst case scenario will be a driving ban and a hefty fine, if he pleads guilty that is. If he pleads not guilty, then it will be adjourned for a trial in several months time. Either way he will be walking out of court today (unless he pleads not guilty and tells the magistrates that he is intending legging it back to Aus, in which case he is likely to get remanded in custody to either Hull, Doncaster or Armley nick's.. )
Therefore, he will be available to play on Saturday, and in my opinion we will be stuffed without him, as he is the only one capable of leading us around the park, but as BS and MC have already allegedly said that he will not be playing, then it looks like the writing is already on the wall !!!

| No alleging about it FIL. Radio Leeds interviewed Brian Smith on Sunday and he clearly said on air that Tim Smith will not be playing. FACT.

Yes but there is nothing to stop him changing his mind (not saying he will), for instance if Godinet is not 100% fit which he looks like he isn't and breaks down in training would he change his mind - I think he would have to.

| We NEED Tim Smith on the park....Miller at 6 and Godinet interchanging with Sio at 9.
Timmy owes us big time for his indiscretion...so give him chance to make amends

| I don't know the details of the incident but all he seems to have done is commit a serious road traffic offence. It happened in his own time far away from Wakefield. These things go on every day in the 'normal' world and never result in sacking or even discipline.
Unless his job depends on him having a clean driving licence I can't see how the club can dismiss him.
Paul Aiton smashed a car up outside Wakey Pride and got done for D Driving but the club did not sack him.
For what its worth I am hoping its just mind games and he will play.

In the coach's car though wasn't it?

Was it or was it technically a club car supplied to the coach. I would bet its the latter, Chris B has a car leasing company and
supplies plenty of the vehicles.
Like I said I do not know the full details but if he had taken the car illegaly, he would have also been charged with TWOC and no insurance.
As far as I am aware he hasn't been but I will stand to be corrected.
The list of RL players done for Drink Driving is massive and many of them were driving club supplied cars at the time. I don't ever remember anyone being treated as harsh as this. As far as I remember even the great Dave Toplis got done for it.

| I'm not sure where the idea comes from you can get D&D conviction and keep your job, if is was my place you'd be straight out on your ear.
Sportsmen don't live in the real world however, usually they'll get a bollocking or fined internally and they are back in the team.

| No dismissals at my place of work for driving offences. Many people lose their job because of subsequent commuting problems if they're banned. I'd certainly struggle to do my 50 mile round trip on a push bike.

| I've already posted the facts about drink/driving offences and the options open to the employer; if the club wanted to, I'm almost certain that they could dismiss and that it would be safe to do so.
Personally, whilst what he's done is incredibly stupid and irresponsible, I'm not sure that the moral stance is worth a million quid; if I could play him on Saturday, I would.

| From a Rugby point of view it is total madness not to play Tim Smith, he is the only player we have with any creative spark. If for a change the rest of the playing staff decide to put in 100 % on Saturday all they have the ability to do is bash it up ( that`s if they manage to catch the ball ) and that will not be enough to break down the Bradford defense.
My opinion is for Gods sake play Tim Smith
