It would be an interesting moral decision for the many Cas fans who became eco-warriors and objected to the development on the grounds of protecting green belt and saving the children; would they overcome their concerns to watch Cas play there, or boycott the stadium as a sign of solidarity with Mrs Fender and co?

| I hate to say but I suspect Cas could do very well playing from Newmarket as long as the money from the sale of WR went back into the team/club. If they reinvested the money wisely and got spending up to the full cap with some half decent success the fans will turn up.

Get a grip man. Of course I know we don't own it. It is indeed for the whole community.
However, right now, no one else apart from Wakefield Trinity is looking to play in it as a Super league Club. When we play there, it will be OUR stadium. I'm sure if another team plays there as a home stadium they will call it their's too.

| I think this has always been on the cards with CT using it as a hedge for their stadium.
The Cas fans wont like it though.
For me it makes perfect sense to share a stadium. A fully utilised stadium for the rugby season is great and makes everything more financially viable. Derby games would be great in there.

Amazing that, didn't notice many Cas fans battling to get the community a stadium - quite the opposite, talk about what suits

On a point of pedantry, won't there only be one anchor tenant? i assumed anyone else after us would be secondary tenant's?

I was going to say that but wasn't confident. I'd like to know the answer.
It's a question of priority too. What happens if a local team wants to play and books the stadium a year in advance before super league fixtures are out, on Sunday at 3.30?

| Think us and the Tigers would be given priority to playing days at the Stadium. Also Sky would have to understand that if Stadium is booked they wouldn't be allowed to change fixture at drop of a hat.

| There is no problem with Cas playing at NM after all they are a team within WMDC and have has much right to be there as us. What I am trying to point out is those Eco warriors that Bren mentioned, plus the high and mighty 'I will never move' brigade. Just watch how they change their stance over the comming months. Infact some of them will probably end up saying it was their intention to play there all along and GH was nothing more than a smokescreen

| No problem with Castleford sharing the Stadium as its a Community Stadium, a proper Community Stadium so the decision rests with the Wakefield & District Community Trust who will welcome their involvement as it makes the stadium more sustainable.
It will never happen though because I seem to recall seeing a letter sometime ago from I think it was Richard Wright to the Trust when asked if Castleford wished to play/share in the Stadium flatley refused as they had plans of their own - nothing has changed as far as I can see. Sell WR to Tesco and Robert is your Father's brother.

| Interesting how people with a different prerogative see things isn't it?
Newmarket is still 3 years away, at the earliest so it does neither club any help for the next round of licenses, so if Cas have to leave Cas because of the stadium I still wouldn't be shocked to see it being the Keepmoat seems they're after anyone who is willing to pay a bit of rent to go play there.
Dave Parker has also said today that Cas have been offered a low interest loan to get Glasshoughton built, so if he's got this right for a change that's great news for Cas too.

It's irrelevant who "battled" for it as it is for the community and I don't get your point of "talk about what suits" either. I haven't expressed a desire for Cas to play at Newmarket so your eye rolling is lost on me too! I merely pointed out that as things stand the community stadium will not be "ours" as poptart put it, but you knew that already vasty didn't you.
