Why? Maybe it's to get him fit or something if it is a loan deal. Could be a good move who knows

Signed before Agar came to the club.
It does seem a bit odd but surely the club must have good reasons for doing this.

Yes bitter doesn't even begin to cover it. I think the fact we have never finished bottom of SL despite all our problems really pees off fans of clubs like Halifax who had their chance blew it (with one of if not the lowest points totals ever) and have had numerous chances since they went down to get back up (prior to franchising as well) but failed.
Apparently in a sporting competition what happens on the field (including never finishing bottom of the league) doesn't seem to count for anything, we don't deserve our place in SL despite never been the worst team in the league, even when we started with -4 and had a squad which cost 30-40% less than anyone elses.

| The percentage of income rule was abolished a few years ago now. It will more likely be the case that we wanted to free up space for a new signing that will be ahead of him in the pecking order. Hes is the kind of player that needs to be playing to keep in shape.

I did wonder about it, but they are adamant on their site about it. Your view makes more sense and probably fits in with a self imposed cap by the club rather than anything to do with the SL Rules. Come to think of it, if the rule they mentioned existed, the RFL would not have let us sign mathers and Aiton

If memory serves they finished the season with one win and then had the points deducted for a salary cap infringement.
If they are correct that we are over the salary cap then surely with the system being 'live' the RFL would have noticed when we went on our recent signing frenzy.

| A. the club stated on several occasions we wouldn't be spending up to the full cap until at least year 3 of the current license period and that the quality of player to take us up to that figure ie.the like of what Wigan and Warrington have, are not available to us right now therefore it would be pointless wasting money on average players.
B. It's simply not possible that the group of players we have now cost enough to be over the salary cap.Â
C. If anyone is stupid enough to believe that after the year we have endured we would be idiotic enough to put ourselves straight back in a position of immediate business failure then you really have to be out of your mind.
Matt James leaving the club on a 3 month loan here in the real world is not going to be the difference between us being under or over a salary cap. However will Halifax afford his astronomical wages?!?! And what ever will we do when the 3 months are up?!?!... Matt James is a player who was signed before Agar arrived. He is not going to be a starting prop owing to the fact that Agar doesn't rate him, and even if he did play him he needs him to be fit. The only way someone like Matt James can stay that way is to play games of rugby league. Hence why he is going on loan. There is nothing more sinister to this move than that!!
The only cap we MIGHT have exceeded COULD be the year 1 cap we set internally as indicated in our successful license application. What that figure is has bog all to do with anyone else. The Halifax fans who have heard these rumours are clearly as intelligent as their chairman. I can still hear the reverse beeps coming from over yonder. Has he apologised to us yet?
