The Sun (not a reliable source of information, I know) had reported today that Wakefield's problems are mounting and that we threaten losing our coach.
I hope this is lazy journalism, and know that JK has said he wants to take us to our new stadium etc. I also think he will want to work with this team he has put together, and that the England job is a poisoned chalice etc, but.....
Is the Terry Newton thing just one more problem which he could do without, and something which could turn him towards the England job if it were offered?
I really hope not, but was the reported "four hour meeting with directors" just about Terry Newton, or were other things discussed?'"
It's Dave Parker!

Its something that I'm sure the Club and JK could have done without, and saying that its a "non-existent issue" which I have created is utter nonsense.
As has been said on another topic, this would be another great oportunity for the club and JK to refute the England links.
I hope to God he stays.'"
I don't think we've any problem at all regarding TN,I think he's got the problem!

| I have never seen him get a single scoop right, hopefully this will not be the first. Would be great if it comes out this week he has signed an extension and going nowhere, Mopsey would throw a right shenny!

Purely being devils advocate, by the time planning permission may be refused, we may also be bottom of the league, would you've so critical of the views of others?

| I thought Stevo got something right tonight for a change about the press. They don't want to know when teams are playing well and good things are happening at clubs. But when things go's bad rugby league makes the headlines.
I for one don't buy these rags so I'm not supporting them

How do they, one player receiving a drugs ban means only one thing, he's been a fool. The baring that has on the clubs general well being IMO is virtually nil!
The Sun have simply picked up one incident and tried to create an alternative universe out of it. It the chicken licken syndrome.
So again what are these mounting threats, or more to the point why do they exist now after one incident when they didn't seem too 48 hours ago?

| I hope to god that these rumours are nothing more than "lazy journalism". It's no coincidence that the clubs on field improvements happened the day Kear walked through the door. He isn't known as King Kear for nothing and as far as I am concerned he is god.
The England job is a poisoned chalice. I cannot understand why someone would want to tarnish their reputation by taking it but until the RFL appoint someone we must not underestimate the threat to our club that this posses. I want to see John Kear lead our team out in our new stadium lets hope the RFL does not wreck my dream!

| You still don't get it do you? Moonriverman just made a comment, that although everything in the garden is rosey, it wouldn't take a lot for things to change.
Basically, apart from this incident with Newton, (which unless there's a lot more to it, I don't think it would alter JKs attitude, and you and I don't know if there is or isn't!) our future and his career/income is all on one shot at this new ground.
Ok so we are playing great rugby, sitting top of the table, a run of poor form/results (and that is very possible in what is now a very even league) timed with a negative result re: the ground and what looks good suddenly looks very different.
What then for john? He is a very shrewd man and I would be absolutely gutted were we to loose him, but he would be an absolute idiot not to regularly review his options and explore opportunities.
I hope there is as little substance to this story as any other sun story, but that doesn't make it so, and if you are blinkered to it being a load of odd tosh, end of, then don't critisise people who aren't quite as distrusting as you.

| A four hour meeting would be barely enough to discuss the current start to the season and how to maintain it, the impact of losing TN with regard to that aim and what (if anything) to do with the possibility of unexpected space on the salary cap - e.g. should we look to see if there is any short-term experienced player available, or should we try and promote more youngsters (I don't know if young Annakin has signed yet, but ...).
One thing we can expect as Wakey fans is the unexpected!

I'm sure JK is already looking, it would be nice to think that with the money saved, we could look to bring through one or two more youngsters through, and maybe if there's anyone who's caught JKs eye from elsewhere.
