| All the players played well in that one. Very happy with the win.
Seth Nikotemo looks to have bulked up a bit and he looked very strong tonight going forward and in defence. Could have played himself back into the 17 for saints game with that.
It’s refreshing to have a squad of players that whoever plays they give their all, great mentality to have when even if your not playing week in well out your still looking to improve and push on those in the team to also improve.
Well played the full team. Go get Saints, we need to really pay them back hard for early season.

Until Max stops bottling the high pressure games, he won’t be getting that England shirt.
Go on then, what exactly did Max 'bottle'? Crazy comment isn’t it. Max who was faultless under high ball and took every one under pressure even. Put in a cracking pass to send Walmsley in, cleared up danger a few times clearing the ball with pressure from oncoming chasers. Good defence and poked his nose through the line a few times running back. A display like that is more likely to get Wane to notice him. The way he moves players in defence and manages the line is excellent. Unfortunately I understand what he means. All the great things he does makes him an outstanding player for us.But Wane will see the two tries where, not just him, but he let players wriggle free and score on the line.

In high pressure games vs the Hull clubs and Saints he’s often lacked concentration in key points or missed an easy kick. Don’t get me wrong he’s a SL quality fullback but tonight his defence on the try line was weak, something that’d get even more exposed against the Aussies.

Got to be the best we have played for a long time. Was a credit to rugby league that two teams could go toe to toe with each other for 80 minutes, and the penalty count ,was so low for both teams ,Just two teams giving 100%
I don’t think in certain aspects of the game we played that well and in some ways I think that is what makes it all the more sweeter, as I’ve seen so many games like that get away from us over the years. Both teams half backs had off days and defences were good but not really challenged. They coughed up ball and field position time and time again but we never looked like scoring as we were so lateral and at times rudderless. I’ve not seen the stats but I would guess they made more errors than us particularly in the second half but we just went side to side, in fact one of the few times we went direct with shape we scored through Storton. They were similar and whilst they had fewer chances they didn’t take advantage through poor organisation of their halves. Positive spin both defences were pretty good and Leeds did their homework on Lino with defenders cutting down his time by rushing on him from out to in and he took some punishing shots which resulted in a torrid evening for him which made the match winning play all the sweeter. Credit to him after a tough night generally and after taking that massive hit not long before to put in the pass for Storton and to slot that drop goal off a fairly poor pass from the ruck and under pressure was very good. That last 10 minutes he proved to be the match winner. My personal man of the match was Myers Leeds went after him with their kicking game early and he lapped it up, kick returns and early set carries out of defence really good. He looks very good on his feet. Overall last night felt like a bit of an occasion and maybe whilst not the highest quality game it was an entertaining and enthralling 80 minutes in front of a packed house, which is only going to get people coming back for more.

| What a game. 2 teams with superb defences going toe to toe. I do think we had the advantage as soon as Jake Connor left the field (hope he's ok?) as everything seemed to go through him for the Rhino's. Another brilliant team effort in front of a sell out crowd and we are back in the Top 6 for the time being. It's a great time to be a Trinity supporter right now.

All the great things he does makes him an outstanding player for us.But Wane will see the two tries where, not just him, but he let players wriggle free and score on the line. There were 4 other players just as responsible if not more for the try’s. Nikotemo joining and not covering ball and Smith failing to tackle Lisone letting him run up to the line for example. So he’s got to go the whole season not making a single error or he’s cooked? Plenty of England players make the odd error. Wellsby, French and others do. I think that our fans are way too harsh on Max and because he makes very few errors the small amount he does gets elevated. Max wasn’t responsible or at least fully responsible for the try’s at all. He held up O’Connor and got his hand under the ball too. Like the commentators said the other players should have done better like Nikotemo joining after and not covering the ball. Lisone ran straight at Smith which changed his trajectory and I don’t think anyone in SL would have stopped that try. That wasn’t solely max either. I said pre match Lisone will run at Smith end of 1st half for a try. Powell should have taken Smith off as soon as Lisone came on. Honestly I think our fans can be way too harsh on Max who’s very good week in week out.

| I feel Walmsley has improved incredibly since the start of the year. The weakest part of his game was the hard metres out of our half. He has visibly put on size and runs better lines when coming out. Thought he took his try really well, that little step he did to change direction was class. I don’t think he scores that at the start of the year.

He’s not going to go through the season faultless and even the best fullbacks in the NRL and SL done do that. It’s doesn’t stop them getting on the international scene but for Max it’s seemingly not okay for it to happen at all or it’s a big deal.

Have to agree with that. And it wouldn’t surprise me if we extended his deal again beyond 2026 with his best years coming up. He can also play both left and right wing and fullback.

I’ve not rewatched it but at the time it looked like Lino was the one mainly at fault with weak contact.

Nothing to do with going with knives jeez.

I really like Max, I think he’s a cracking SL player and is the current top point scorer for a reason. However, I felt he did deserve a call up to the larger squad but obviously Wane sees it differently. I will be very very confident of seeing Johnstone and big Mike representing us in the ashes.
