| IMO Salford will be lucky to complete the season.
They scraped it last year financially, but if the desperate council buyout of the stadium falters, it's game over.

| It is only the outstanding and determined work by the previous incumbents that saved our club from financial disaster and paved the way for Matt Ellis to step in and use his wealth to develop a new narrative for Trinity - built on the dedicated work of Michael Carter and John Minards. We wouldn't be here without them and certainly not looking to pull together the additional fractions of points to reach the magic 15 to provide Super League security.
Be absolutely certain, if Councillor Box had had his way we would now be in a far worse position than Salford.

Spot on, pity we got some on here who do not want to know the truth

Sounds like they have some very good 'friends' on the council. They know when they have spent this latest gift, the council will cough up again. Also reads like it was pushed through by a small few at the top and there was no wider consultation with the full council, hardly democratic but mirrors the dictatorial style when Box ran out council.

| All they are doing is getting investment just like many others.
It's just that this is public money instead of private.
If they can agree those terms good luck to them.......but clearly that is a fragile existence.

The sad thing is that on the balance sheet this will actually help get Salford points I think from outside investment etc. though in reality it’s to keep them in existence. Very fragile indeed.
One bad season on the pitch and their goose may be cooked.

| It’s not investment, it’s loans that the council are unlikely to recover or even attempt to recover, should have a negative impact on IMG points

Depends if it’s counted on the balance sheet as loans. There’s creative ways of turning a positive. If it’s not subject to repayment then it’s not a loan and if it’s not required to be repaid then it will likely just appear as an injection of funds. If there is no outgoing or agreement to repay any amount then I can’t see how it would negatively impact. Though it certainly should.

Yep, but don't think they'd have won if saints had finished with 13 men......

I'm certain they wouldn't have won if they'd paid their bills instead of paying for the likes of Brierley, MacDonald, Lafai, Cust and Sneyd.
They're great on the field 'cos they won't pay their way off the field.
