Well whatever they discussed it didn't work! Time wise they are probably screwed now to be honest.

| Do you know after the Bradford fire and all wooden stands had to be demolished ,including one we had. I have often wondered how Cas were allowed to retain theirs. Could it be that when the floods happen , due to its wooden construction, it actually floats. It would then act as a huge life boat.

I commented on this the other day. We demolished our West stand, never did anything with theirs.

| Not wishing to be too pessimistic but, which other clubs (apart from Cas) are in the frame ?
London
York
Newcastle
Toulouse
Are we comfortably in front of these clubs too, it's not just between us and Cas

| The problem with the stand was that like Bradford it had a bar underneath and we also had an access tunnel.

| I don't know for sure but didn't the rules change after we knocked our stand down, meaning they didn't have to.
I may have made that up but I'm sure I heard it.

The bar could have been closed, but I am sure that had nothing to do with it. Plus when the 'pay extra' paddock at the front was scrapped most people just changed ends down the front. I also remember many used to get onto the pitch and walk down the touchline.
I seem to think it was demolished when the council had control for those few years. They also made us demolish the floodlights too and they were far better than the Cas ones that still stand today.
Let's not forget the South stand, supposedly demolished due to the land being unsafe and a danger to those houses behind.

The south stand was demolished by the club because they wanted to move the ground so that a supermarket could be built behind the North Stand. The problem with the bar was that it was a big open area below a wooden stand which at Bradford contained flammable materials.
I thought the floodlights were being replaced for those that could be lowered so I doubt the blame could be down to the council.

| I remember both walking through the tunnel and down the pitch when we used to change ends at half time...oh the good old days
I've posted this before but as it's cropped up again I'll re-post it...my step-dad was Principal Electrical Engineer for WMDC at the time and when they inspected the floodlight towers, they found that they had been made of tubular steel but had never been capped off, so over the years they had filled up with rain water and corroded from the inside-out and were on the point of collapsing, so had to be demolished for safety reasons

No the floodlights were definitely condemned by the council. In fact it was within a few days of us getting back the ground that they demanded that, good on em eh. We have had quite a few issues to contend with over the years ground wise. Yet Cas just seemed to carry on as normal. I remember not long ago their floodlights catching fire when we played them and yet they are still in use.
