There was absolutely nothing wrong with the challenge at all. Both players went up to contest the ball, there’s always going to be some contact between two players competing for the same ball but neither were at fault. Had it been McGilvery who landed awkwardly it wouldn’t have been Murphys fault just the same as Murphys injury isn’t McGilverys fault

My live take at the game was that he lost the challenge to the ball and wrapped Murphy up who was mid leap and in doing so came down adding weight to Murphy.

Whether that’s correct on the replay idk as I haven’t looked. It looked reactive and reckless to me rather than intentional but I thought it worth of a penalty at the time and unfortunately it’s resulted in an injury to a player that’s ended his season.

Regardless, it wasn’t cited so that’s the end of it and Murphy won’t play again this season. We have to move on and it gives other wingers opportunity.

Better just to move on and stay positive.

Newman back and Bentley for this one , so should get at least some time playing against 12 men , and get a look and see if Newmans hamstrings are anything but cheesestrings . When we beat them I don’t want the excuses they were down on their star players

Just to warn you that driving through Leeds is a nightmare at the moment anyone driving over tomorrow give yourselves plenty of time. I come from Rothwell and it took me 40 minutes to get to Headingly for the Hull game.
