Why are people getting upset? Max has done a great job and I see him as an HB for the future. These days the CCup is a second-string comp, it's the obvious game to see if Brough has recovered.

We still need Brough as we need Jowitt. Jowitt won't become an HB overnight, I expect and hope to see him in and out of that position through the season. Also, Max is now the only cover for FB at the moment.

If last season taught us anything its that you have to use your resources sparingly. Max has a huge utility value now, FB. HB and even wing, he's very much in the same boat as Hampshire.

It's a squad game these days rather than a first name on the teamsheet mentality. It's interesting to see that Fifita has also been thrown in when you could argue that he isn't needed for this game.

Max and Hampshire will get there, I don't think CC is an unfair man, he's a coach so he's cautious, which is what we pay him for.
