Quite frankly it just wasn't good enough over the 80 minutes. Matched them up front for parts of the first half but made way too many errors and as soon as Cas gave the ball some air we were all over the place and unable to cope, it harked back to the dark days of Webster in that respect. Tansey and Lyne were ridiculously poor on their side. I suppose one positive is that Johnstone might have added a couple of quid to his value with his double. BS has a lot of work to do yet.

Quote: Khlav Kalash "Five tries down Tansey's wing. I don't expect to see him next week or indeed in the middle 8's.'"

Some people actually dared to suggest that before he had even pulled on a shirt he was a poor signing, as was Howarth, and possibly all the others sine Webster's departure. I'm afraid they are just that, poor. I think we are Tansey's 6th, maybe 7th club in his career?! How old is he, 28? and I still don't know what position he plays. This tag of a 'utility' player is a polite way of saying, they are no good in a particular position so we will call them utility and hope to get away with it! Generally all in all the last 18 months to 2 years have seen a trickle of the better players we had leaving, being replaced by inferior ones, so I don't think it really matters who the coach is to be honest, although I did expect a bit better under BS. They just seem to implode at crucial points in games, silly schoolboy errors that they seem to do week in week out, then they just give up when the going gets tough. I thought we were making progress but not so sure now, I think a couple have made good strides as individuals, but as a team we haven't, but that's partly Smith's fault for chopping and changing all the time, which he's fully entitled to do, but it may come back to haunt him having no continuity. Very disappointed with the effort today, it was like turning the clock back 2 months.... icon_sad.gif

I think that whoever takes on the marketing job on no pay has just been given a poison chalice by the players. I thought Lyne would be dropped today he fails to impress every game. His only saving grace was his pace but that as long gone. Howarth was a disaster the first time around we are now stuck with him for another season, the same for Tansey.

Sio comes in for Howarth and Matt Ryan for Lynne in my opinion. Whether Riley is the better option than Tansey I'm unsure. Play Jowitt at full back and keep Miller at 6.

Washbrook can do at dummy half what both Howarth and Sio can do, yet both of them have been given 18 month deals. I got told off on here for saying that McShane or Godinet won't be here next year, if, and it's a massive if because we don't know what league we will be in, but if Washbrook , McShane & Godinet are here, why would you sign Howarth & Sio on 18 month deals?!

I doubt you could play Ryan at centre not quick or fit enough. The obvious choice would be Hall regardless of what some of you will say. I would remind supporters what some of our so called experts thought about Arundel.

After the last few games why was our in-form half back, Miller, pushed to full back and out of the attacking action when Locke was retired injured? Again, Tim Smith showed determined effort NOT to run with the ball, although he did throw one or two good passes out today.

Smith also threw one or two awful passes out our attack looked one dimensional again with him in trouble with him he needs a good pack getting on top and backing him up to look good and we aint got that so we need a scrum half who can put himself in the firing line and take the line on. I have praised Smith in the past when we had a good pack and Sykes and Mathers backing him up but we need a whole different type of half at the moment

Supported the club for over 50 years, starting to feel like walking away. Money is tight and Im sure there must be more enjoyable ways of spending Sunday afternoon.

no he isn't a half back, hes a good broken play player, but a creative half back never.

think we all got a bit giddy at the wire game

We are very lucky that we have a second chance with the play offs because this as been our worse season for many years. I hope we survive but to be honest unlike previous years we do not deserve to. If we fail then it would be fair when you consider the points gap between us and Salford, this is not to say that we will but I have seen little in the recent performances to suggest we can. I know Smith has improved things but sadly we were just too far below the rest of SL following the reign of Webster who was allowed to stay too long.

Lee Smith is now the obvious centre choice. Ryan should be on the bench and could then slot into the forwards or backs - if he had been on the bench today then we could have kept Miller at half back (not sure who played in the halves after the re-shuffle, it seemed to change as the game progressed).

Only problem with Lee Smith is that you don't know what fitness level he's coming to the club in. He hasn't played all season so is unlikely to be match fit or anywhere near that level to be honest. Very hard to come in and play well in those circumstances.

Will fit in great. Some of these players have played most of the season and still they are not playing well eusa_wall.gif

Touche, I just wish we'd move away from this grapple tackle! fair enough it might slow the play the ball down, but I'd far sooner see the opposition being hit backwards hard with an old fashioned tackle. They might get up and play the ball a bit quicker but they'd have doubts about running it in again!
