We clearly have a McNally type issue where the team simply won't play for the guy. In this case you may as well not have a coach.

For me this is symptomatic of what has happened to the club in the last 2 years. Every bit of joy has been sucked out of it. From the petty stewarding and general mean spiritedness on match days (Bigal for example) to bland and passionless rugby. The whole club is infected with it and it's a horrible experience going to BV these days.

The books may well balance but at what a cost.

I feel for James because he's a good bloke but the crisis the team is in needs a older head to rile the team up and give them direction and inspiration because he doesn't seem able to do this.. Tactian maybe, head coach ? Not at Wakefield !! I'm really worried how we get out of this mess now...

London last year are generally regarded as one of, if not the, worst superleague team in history defensively. After 10 games we have only conceded 27 points less than them at the same stage.

Both have nice roles at other clubs. Why would they give those up to come here?

What if Webster falls on his sword or gets the boot, someone comes in & re-boots the season, cumulating in a middle eight survival – it’s not beyond the realms of possibility.

And that for me is the problem with the new system. We don't deserve to stay up getting spanked all year while waiting for the end of season games.

The RFL should bring in a rule of some sort meaning you have to be competitive all year, something like if a team is 8 or 10 points adrift by the split they are relegated anyway (example I know).

Things have been bad before and I've often felt embarrassed to be a Wakefield fan but this score line coming on the back of the last 3 capitulation sis a new low.

I agree with Vastman (again) the fun has been sucked out of going to games, I feel detatched from the club and my resolve is all but gone.

Have to fully agree with that with just one alteration, its now 5 games on the bounce we have conceded 40 or more which is pathetic for a so-called professional team.

I was thinking exactly this. Our current performance is definitely not SL standard. If we carry on like this and then manage to stay up (because we've got our "full strength" team back) it will, in my opinion, be a travesty of all that sport is about and would bring the game in to disrepute. Also - fans will not respond positively to the club Being a perennial bottom feeder, always being happy merely to survive and scrape through when it matters. Where's the ambition? The vision for the future?
I have spent the last 45+ years optimistically looking forward to the next season when things would be better and hoping, one day, to get some silverware. I can't see it happening in my lifetime now and I just feel sad for our once great club.

Webster keeps playing the injury crisis card but it's the same for all clubs simply listen or read the post match interviews.

What it boils down to is pride and professionalism we have neither.

Under Agar and now Webster we have played some of the most tedious, brain dead rugby I have ever seen yet they both were handed 3 year contracts with no thought whatsoever.
