Exactly, a successful businessman which he is shouldn't be making them.

| I am not doubting what some people are saying on this thread but how come everything negative is always "fact" yet anything remotely positive is conjecture or complete nonsense. I get the distinct feeling that many people are waiting for the club to fall apart and disappear into the annals of history just so they can proudly proclaim I told you so.

| Quick reality check!
A forum is a faceless environment in which unsubstantiated rumors are created and taken as gospel truth.
Until the club crumbles then i'll keep that salt pot on the table while reading through posts on this or any other board.

| no way should you be talking of leaving el rey in my eyes you are the voice of honesty and moderation ,idont know what is the truth here, but i do know the leaders of the club dont take fans serious or some of the avoidable things they do would be avoided

| Quote El Rey="El Rey"I spoke to him a couple of times and thats enough for me, he followed that up with the meeting to end all meetings, you may remember the Newmarket pictures/stuff well they were added at the last minute on advice from someone outside the paid staff, the advice was that if you pull this stunt on the 1873 alone you'll get strung up.
That meeting was aimed at taking money from the fans for 1873 and to this day i still can't seem to find out how its been spent, i wonder why that is and why its not been shouted from the rooftops after the shouting before the meeting.'"
Basically you don't trust him because of the Cedar Court meeting, each to their own mate.
I haven't got a clue what goes on at the club just like most others and I won't even pretend to. But as far as Glover goes, he's got far more right imo than he's got wrong and how can't you respect a guy that took over the club, when we dead and buried. Stuck thousands of his own money and given a bit of stability to the club. Sure he's made mistakes but he was bound to having not owned a RL club before especially this one but I'm not going to hold that against him. Must be a bit of a nightmare running this club, juggling money, not enough fans, no multimillionaire owner, old ground, lost sponsorship etc.
Also if I was him I'd wonder why I'd bother tbh because there does seem to be a collection of fans and I'm not talking about you at all, mostly people on the terraces, that seem to have a circle jerk at every piece of bad news or rumor at the club.
Anyway we might not always agree but I do think you're a great poster.

| I think we are all getting a little excited on this thread, we will soon be sharpening the knives. Things like this cannot remain hidden for very long so eventually the truth will out. However if I were Mr Glover I would be looking outside the world of rugby league for a new CEO because I have always thought that Elson is way out of his depth.

I think the phrase is 'this'.
I can't knock JE's commitment but people have a level and from everything i hear, his is a level too high. We need fresh ideas and geniune business savvy in that that position and right now we lack that. Jimmy probably got a position a level too high 5-10 years before he should have. He maybe would have been best serving an apprenticeship under an experienced, successful, RL adiminstrator before he got the gig. Right now we seem to be paying the price.

Has AG got the balls to get shut of him, after all he seems to be his mate, and that does not work in business, then theres JE wife taking her lump out of the club, makes you think dont it

| But what are they actually doing wrong?
The club is not generating enough money to cover its liabilities, that seems clear, but does that mean it is being run badly? Didn't AG say that he wanted the club run as a going concern. If someone had evidence of money being wasted or people giving large salaries to family or whatever, or mortgaging the ground hoping to cash in when the new stadium is given the green light, then fine. If it is just cashflow, what can they do apart from increase season ticket prices? Or run a lottery.
Okay, the club isn't making enough money. That doesn't mean people are doing a bad job. It just means that the club doesn't make enough money.
AG presumably is waiting for Newmarket to kickstart everything, with lower outgoings maybe and bigger crowds, but we can't blame him for that. What he isn't obliged to do is keep pumping his own money in just to keep us afloat. He wants it to be a going concern. I like to think they are trying their best to get it there.

| Quote El Rey="El Rey"I'll go on record and state i don't believe a word either AG or JE say, never have from day 1.
Now if it seems i have a dig all the time then i apologise to all decent Trin fans.
Maybe its time for me to go.'"
This is something I have been giving an awful lot of thought about recently, not just on here but with the club in general. Have to wonder whether after 30+ years me and Wakefield Trinity has run its course, there's only show much shee-ite you can take year after year before you have to say enough is enough. Sat down the other week and worked out just how much our household spends on following thew club over the course of a year and its an eye watering amount. Maybe the time has come to spend that money a little differently.
