| Quote jonh="jonh"It depends how we look at things.
Got to take this on a short term and long term basis.
Long term…madness.
Short term it probably makes sense.
We have Langi and Lynn, as well as Gaskill able to play Centre.
We have 1 full back and are desperate for another. Dagger is also a bit of a utility.
I’d like to think we can look long term…but in the situation in which we find ourselves we have to try to do something to assist with the fullback position.
It’s a move that smacks of desperation, but unfortunately that is the position in which we find ourselves we have to do anything to look after the now the 2023 season we cannot realistically look longer term than that.
Very depressing the whole thing though.'" pleased with this from a kr point of view but your post is correct , dagger is a good player and still only young aswell

| Quote Dunkirk Spirit="Dunkirk Spirit"Yes he is, and if I was a betting man, I would say Hall has had his head turned by two former Trinity team mates, and perhaps suggested to the club he’s unhappy with our situation, and our management have always said they wouldn’t prevent an unhappy player moving on. I think if Dagger stays fit, then he’ll do a job for us.'"
Agreed.
Hall hasn’t looked up for the fight.
We need lads up for the fight.
I think conversations will have been had and a deal reached that suits all stakeholders.
I think Dagger’s wage will be getting paid partially at least by KR too.

Dagger could prove to be a good signing. Let’s give him a shot.
We have Langi, Lyne, Gaskell for Centre with Law/Pratt as emergency.

| Quote jonh="jonh"Ok so maybe £30k and then an £80k wage?
It’s not chicken feed and no I don’t expect the club have that kind of money hidden away in one of the directors mattresses.'"
Are you honestly telling me the club has ZERO flexibility on the cap? Given the amount of players who left off season and who / how we replaced them, if this is the case then our budget must be scraps. Like literally the lowest ever in Super League.
Also, as I say HKR we're of the view that he didn't have a future. Hence why he's coming here. So 30k seems a bit of a stretch. I bet there are several players out there, where thier respective clubs would allow them to move on for no fee at all - I'd rather we acquired one of those than lose the biggest asset at the club for a out of favour utility player.
We're now very weak at centre.

You've turned into the clubs chief apologist, post after post it's frantic, as the messiah sent you on here

Because I think Dagger is a better option for 2023 than Hall is given the glaring issues in certain positions in the squad?
Don’t think I’ve apologised anywhere.
Simply said in the short term it makes more sense than keeping a player where we have 4 options to cover 2 positions than going with 1 specialist fullback, especially when the player leaving may not want to be here.
I don’t like it, but I can understand it.

| According to this week's League Express..."Applegarth is still keen to bring new faces to the club", so I'm guessing, by this announcement, that there are discussions on-going and that there may be limited funds available ??

| It’s 20 year old players like Hall we should be keeping. Let Langi/Taufua/Gaskell go…

Let's just say this was all instigated by Hall. Do you believe that the club got the best deal for him?
