Quote: chissitt "There's the crux of the matter, is he is demanding massive money on the top of a couple of top draw games, you don't watch Wakey and no nothing of his wage demands but your perception of him is that he seems to be holding out for an unrealistic contract out of greed, could it just be that he's asking for a reasonable contract in line with some of the lesser earners at the club and not wanting anything like the figures some people would have you believe, btw who is his agent?'"

Craig Harrison.
I'd guess with club owners/agents, on the whole club owners think agents are greedy barstewards, and agents think club owners are tight wads.

How do you know he has not signed because we all know that George King will be with us next season but no confirmation from the club. We have to sell season tickets which can be assisted by announcing signings or extensions.
I don’t know but it is something the club have used in the past.

Think you are wrong the top teams all have quick v dangerous full backs.
Even think Hanbury at Widnes would improve us. Grix is clearly finished and Jowett is back up at best from what I've seen he is far too slow for a top level fullback.

So replace one 34 year old fullback with a 33 year old fullback?
Fantastic forward thinking!
We have Luke Hooley if you didn't know.

For me like others have said it's a stick, as long as terms are right for us and they're going to be right for him enough to get the best out of the lad. He obviously got a bit spoiled by his contract Leigh but IMO for his future, a few seasons establishing himself at Trinity would do him the world of good. Learning under the likes of Finny and just generally getting more and more game time in the halves could set himself up for the rest of his career.

Spot on just needs to establish himself then the world is his oyster. Also Triny under CC and MC have shown a good level of loyalty to players and that alone should be worth a bob or two. In life it’s always the wider picture.

Nothing obvious about it, at Leigh he was payed a decent contract nothing more, just because it was more than what he's getting now does not mean he was a bit spoiled to use your words, if you want to talk about being a bit spoiled then look no farther than Wigan where he was paid as much as Leigh and Wakey together.

Not only that Hanbury is just absolutely terrible and makes Grix looks like Billy Slater.

Fair enough Hanbury I'm living on his past.
Still don't think Grix and Jowett are the answer to bother top teams.. Hampshire more to come

Personally I hope to see a bit of competition in the fullback spot between Jowitt and Hooley.

Has anyone seen the article in Loverugbyleague? I thought Chester had squashed the Reynolds interest?

Yes I saw that before too.

I have also heard more and more over the past 2 weeks that Matty Smith to Catalans is a done deal.

With Drinkwater there, and enjoying his time there (someone posted on here a while back how the weather was similar to down under, and his partner has followed hiim)

The question is, why would they have 2 organisers in the same side

The smith deal was done before drinkwater got there
Smith to Catalan was hot news about 3-4 months back

I don't think anyone expected drinkwater to do quite so well as he has

If I were the Catalans GM, I'd be looking for a way out of the Smith signing - he's never been more than average, and by now, his day is done; Drinkwater has been a big part of why they've kicked on so well in the latter half of the season.

Regards Hampshire - I'm with Vasty and others who've said stick, but not if that involves pandering to ridiculous valuations; at 25, he's had more clubs than Tiger Woods, and failed to properly establish himself at any of them - here, he's getting regular starts at 7 and improving week on week. If he sticks with that, his stock will rise considerably over the next couple of years, then he can perhaps go to the market with higher expectations - and a significantly improved outlook on his career in the longer term.

A lot of what you say is correect bren, but lets get it right the kids 23 not 25 thats two more years to develop, and if i couldnt make summat of a kid with pace ,football brain, and a kicking game that can be improved on and whos got plenty of bottle then my estimation of chester has gone down ,and mr carters ambitions seem fickle to me
