| Makes me laugh how he couldn't get a look in under Webster and Agar the guy looks like he has played full back for 10 years. This is so exciting I cannot remember such a composed young lad absolutely outstanding. Experience is the most over used word in the English dictionary when.it comes to Sport. For.me.if your good enough your old enough whatever the age. Jowett is a golden egg. Saw him at Hull last year did not put a foot wrong the lad is outstanding.

Totally agree. I don't know how long his contract is but it needs extending!

| I don't agree. He would have been battered in those sides and was too young then.
Right time to play him is now.

| Jowitt is proving to be our best player.
I hope he stays under the radar a bit longer but he'll be best in league one day soon.... if not already.

Yeah, I may have been a little too supportive there PT! I really meant to agree with how good Jowitt is now. I commented at the start of the season that he was ready for the first team after seeing him in the MPG but BJB was given the spot.
Things have worked out well and we can all now see how good he is.

| It's probably good that he's under the radar at the moment due to Johnstone's profile; it won't last long though - Jowitt is an exceptional talent.

| Don't know if this keeping them under the radar is a good thing. Other clubs will be aware of how good they are already. Why not shout it from the roof tops about how good Jowitt and Johnstone are? Get some recognition for them. It may earn them call ups, awards, sponsorship deals etc. It may even get our crowds up.
So:
MAX JOWITT AND TOM JOHNSTONE ARE RIPPING UP SUPER LEAGUE WEEK IN WEEK OUT.
Can you hear that Eddie?

Bare with me on this one.
Of course you’re right and I’d be more than happy to see TJ become a world class winger at Trinity.
However there are two things to take into account and both are conjecture on my part as I don’t know the lad.
One, since the first time I saw him he struck me as a kid who likes to be involved. I fear he may get bored on the wing especially if the chances dry up. Most logical move if that happens is to FB or Centre. FB I suggest is now a lost cause with the emergence of MJ so Centre looks the most likely.
Second and a bit of a follow on from point one is TJ’s international ambitions of which I’m sure he has in spades. Both you and I know just how hard it is for a Trinity player to gain recognition let alone selection. People were amazed at the novelty selection of a young Ellis when he was with us, but not six month later and basically the same player he was a must - mainly IMO because of his new shirt. That’s a big distraction for a young player even one on a five year deal.
This is especially an issue for TJ because Winger is one of the few position we as a nation are currently well catered for. There are a fair few players who have as good a claim as Tom and a lot more experience and of course the right address. This could prove very frustrating especially if people get in his ear.
The Centres on the other hand are a wasteland, with even Watkins is now a faded hope. I believe Tom to be a smart player and I firmly believe he could make himself a first class centre within one season, just my opinion. If he did this regular International call ups would be nailed on. I have never believed a player should be tied to one position for life, though I do generally prefer players to play in position where possible but in Tom’s case I’d happily make an exception.
I’m being club selfish here but if we are ever to keep and build on what we create we have to find a way of giving young players a pathway to the top. This is easy if you are Wigan or Leeds but we rarely get a look in so we need to box smart.
That’s my reasoning but what do I know.

I think that you are being a little unfair on Webster and off the chart on Agar.
Under Agar, Jowitt would have been approaching 17 years old and nobody of that age is ready or capable of week in week out SL rugby, they would be broken inside 18 months.
Even under Webster, I don't think he would have been ready.
That said, under the guidance of Smith and then getting his chance under Chester, the lad has progressed superbly, in a very short space of time and he's made the FB spot his own and it is the emergence of Jowitt and Johnstone that has really given the club and the team, that bit of extra spark.
Life will get harder for them as opposition teams start to target them and this will give their team mates more time and space .
These are great times to be a Trinity supporter, no need to rake over the past. It's time to look forward and for a change, with plenty of optimism.

| I'm not totally with you there do not think Jowett's future may be a little more involved at stand off maybe. He has all the attributes, a good pair off hands a turn of speed and most of all vision.

| What Jowitt is doing for a kid only just turned 19 is unreal...Johnstone has been the one grabbing all the headlines but for me, Jowitt is the most naturally gifted player I think I've seen come through the ranks in my time watching...
I know it's still very early days and there will be inevitable dips in form etc....but the way he's come in and nailed the position down, a crucial and very demanding position is superb....
There's some great full backs in Super League but I genuinely wouldn't straight swap Max with anyone out there at present...with him and TJ we've a couple of real diamonds on our hands...
Great to be a Wakey fan at the moment!

I'm not saying you or anyone else is doing this but we don't need to make this a Max v Tom issue. They are both great young talents and both will hopefully forge great careers with us, no comparison is required, both are crowd pleasers in their respective position - we are blessed.

Agree with all that because the kid is dynamic in every aspect, switched on, bold, confident, fast agile and when he runs them lines he is unreal. #properplayer
Miller has been out of this world Finn master of game management and points accumilator but it is total team rugby so many playing their best rugby whilst at the club. confidence breeds confidence. Wakefield know they can beat anybody. #sexyrugby
