There are indeed some good ideas but they need coordinating. The Club needs big money and fast but it will also need cash during next season and beyond and some of these ideas can help with that.
We lost WiSCA who used to do such stuff but maybe the Trust could assist with the coordination.

Glover is keeping his head down in America. Elston is keeping a very low profile on twitter at the moment when he used to be a regular poster so it may just be Mr Carter at least we will get the truth from him.

I know this keeps being said, but many of the mistakes made recently have been by not learning from the past.

| How about raffles on game day?
8000 home fans £1 per ticket on entry....
Be a mascot rather than it be given to friends and family of the club how about charging for letting kids run out with players..
If away games are being show on sky how about selling tickets to watch it at the catsbar..

| fact is as an accountant i would imagine mr carer has already done a cost / benefit analysis on every area of the business and every post on the payroll, including the retention and disposal costs of those posts, second fact is companies are not going to speculate on advertising in a lottery situation so we can forget that, all advertisinig, again is viewed as viable by its potential return, and if for the losers its nil they wont do it.
but my main point and one that will get me strung up no doubt is that we may be better to drop a league and build rather as a successful club again, rather than flounder on as a struggling team.
and finally stop all talk of newmarket being the savoiur, in hindsight (yes i know!) it has deflected time resources and effort of willing and able people away from the day to day survival of the club
ps was going to edit mr carer, but actually its nearer bloody true!!

| 1. Close the shop in the Ridings Centre and sell merchandise on line and at the ground only.
2. Approach big companies in the Wakefield area for sponsorship such as the Wakefield Shirt company or the Car Supermarket Place at Denby Dale Road that was mentioned on another discussion willing to support the club but ignored.
3. Is there something we can do to appeal to those fans of the great Wakefield Trinity film of 'This Sporting Life' such as Mickey Rourke/Russell Crowe who were great admirers of Richard Harris playing Frank Machin. Or approach The Rank Group who have a net income of £164 million per year as they financed the film in 1963 at a cost 0f £230,000. Think they'll still be making money out of the 2008 DVD release ....

Too right! people will not invest/give money away a second time unless they are certain lessons have been made especially as the same people are still at the club

| Hello Mr Daddy Cool
I guess you have probably considered the following but has local business magnate 'Coca Cola' been invited to 'join in' with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. Maybe I am naive, but I would have thought that any self respecting multi million pound company would be willing to help the communities where they are based and from where it derives its work force. Maybe people will comment that this has been done in the past but if so how long ago. Would not now be a perfect time to again knock on their door. Surely they can help...........?
All the very best and good luck.
Regards
Fergus
PS
Fergus isn't my real name.

I actually did that this weekend with the try scorer card. Well I donated half of it. Not that £50 makes a massive dent in £400k

| I've wondered about the Russell Crowe (or one of his Celeb mate) too, Asmasada.
More prosaically, Michael Parkinson used to watch Trinity (may still do, for all I know) must have a bob or too ( & some well-heeled buddies who might fancy a punt on an iconic Rl club)..I even wondered about Geoff Boycott ( now residing in Boston Spa, so poss.too posh?)
Do we promote the club at Barnsley footie club, as when I was a lad in 60's, lots of folk used to go to the other club when theirs was playing away & other at home.Summer rugby allows folk to support both.Could look at reciprocal advertising ?

| Some brilliant Ideas great to see everyone getting stuck in
Free Tickets / and cheap tickets are a huge issue. I see it all the time in the con club to be honest looking back how easy would it have been to duplicate the tickets in the season ticket. The season tickets should be photo ID like most clubs have now.
The Greatest moments DVD is a brilliant Idea and would make a great early stocking filler
Also love the classic shirt idea
We HAVE to look to look at ways at using the stadium in the close season now
A way off but what about a Firework display for bonfire night? Charge X amount for entry and Pie and peas, get a few players and Daddy Cool there. Good for all the fans to meet up and have a drink during close season, could make a hefty profit just selling cans and bottles
The Cribs idea is brilliant and im sure if they got enough tweets they would help out
