| As an outsider looking in I have always admired the way that Wakefield have managed, against the odds, to stay in SL since 1999. OK they have had a good bit of luck just at the right time in certain end of season battles but doesn't every team need lady luck on their side when it matters most? There has to have been good management also along the way in order to sustain top flight status for so long.
I don't know the full story regarding the ownership of the ground etc, except for what I've read in the League Weekly and League express but I have wisely learned never to believe what journalists sensationalise about or indeed general tittle tattle amongst fans.
What worries me more is that one of the men at the RFL, who now commands a huge salary and may well be influencing decisions when it comes to licensing, is also an individual who himself left his post as CEO at a club under a cloud due to dubious financial irregularities. If you do go into administration as seems likely then you will be the second club to do so in this very first period of a system which was acclaimed by Nigel Wood and Richard Lewis to be the perfect way to avoid financial strife.
Many of you criticise Ted Richardson but in my opinion there are far worse problems at the very pinnacle of the sport's management. By the way, I have no connections with the Richardson family, I am an avid Featherstone Rovers fan but all I'm saying is that sometimes it's better the devil you know.
And if you do fall into the Championship then do not despair, it is a fantastic competition and of a very high standard with entertainment value far in excess of the often robotic SL.

You should post more often Mikey T, its a breath of fresh air reading that post, common sense and no bitterness.

Great post Mikey. The frustrating thing is that we can't really do anything to influence the RFL as Wakey fans but we can let the BOD know how we feel about the mess we are in. There's been a lot of accusations thrown at them with very little response. Personally I'm not worried about SL status at the moment I'm worried about losing the club all together. If we have to go down to the championship, what the hell it's just some more away trips to new places and meet new people and drink in some different pubs!

Good call.
I met Vasty last season on the terraces, and he seems like a decent bloke who cares passionately about the club.
I sat with Mopsey at the Supporters Trust meeting the other week, and he seems like a decent bloke who cares passionately about the club.
In the end, isn't that all that counts?
