| The match reports say Brough was sent off was sent off for dissent rather than the 'offensive and abusive language', or however they term it. Is that a positive sign, lazy journalism or am I just being a bit too optimistic.
As for what Brough did, yes a professional sportsman should be able to rise above that, but I'm of the mind of the comparison with Wayne Rooney. For some players that streak is tied very closely to their competitive edge. The best you can hope for is they control it as much as they can, but occasional incidents may still happen; regretable but forgivable. As far as the comparisons with a doctor go, a professional sportsman is a different type of proessional from a doctor.

| I agree with the earlier post that Brough should have been taken off earlier.
Broughy had a great game and made some amazing tackles but you could tell he was really pschyched up.
He got a few late hits from Celtic when he was putting the kicks in and the punch up was him too. I reckon they started to target him after a while and he fell for it.
Didn't cause a problem with score but our general indiscipline meant we got a 34 points diff rather than 50+ which we were heading towards.
Not sure what happened to Korki. He suddenly just got fired up. The hit under the post was right in front of me. The tackle was a tough tackle at best and he drifted high, but he followed up with another shot so it was obviously going to kick off.
Either way, I don't reckon Korki will get a ban but Brough will. It doesn't matter whether he was right or not, he followed the TJ to say something to him so he made an effort to say what he said, rather than in the heat of the moment. That will count against him.

Kear said on radio leeds that he was sent off for foul and abusive language iirc...however, i hope what you have heard is true...if he has been sent off for dissent, presumably after several other incidents of such during the game, i would hope that a warning/sending of sufficient verdict would be passed, however, we are speaking about danny brough, a well known hot head/ildisciplined player, playing for an unfashionable club in wakefield who are having a good season....imo the RFL would take great pleasure in banning our star man for a lengthy period of time.

Indeed - I've had a look at the RFL disciplinary website and this incident will have a major bearing on the outcome: www.therfl.co.uk/about/disciplin ... php?id=865
Interestingly, I couldn't find any previous bans for Brough for anything he's done, at any club. I'm not sure if that's correct though.
He's obviously going to get a ban but with it being us and with him already havng been warned I fear it could cover any playoff matches we'd be involved in too.

| Danny had a great game yesterday, he was really fired up all game. It must be hard to control your feelings when a jumped up ex-linesman is giving it the big ‘I am’.
If Brough had been the captain, would he have been allowed to question the decision?

Do you think Brough got sent off just for questioning a decision? A straight red indicates it was foul/abusive and I'm guessing if Demetriou questioned the officials in a similar manner you could expect the same outcome.

Quote Jambon="Jambon"Surely he wont get more than three matches?'"
I can't read the guide to the disciplinary process here: www.therfl.co.uk/about/page.php? ... areaid=181 because my computer won't download it,
but to find the RFL disciplinary page I did a google search and got a long list of previous hearings which were accompanied by this:
[i" The Panel may apply a sanction outside of the usual range if in light of the aggravating and mitigating factors they consider it appropriate to do so or if they have previously warned the Player that they will do."[/i
So, basically, they can still give him any sanction they want to, despite what they charge him with.

| Quote Wakefield Trinity Wildcats scrum-half Danny Brough has been charged with using foul and abusive language to a match official following his dismissal in the 77th minute of his team's victory over Celtic Crusaders on Sunday.
The offence is classed as Grade C and carries a suspension of between one and four matches if the player is found guilty.'"
No mention of any other Wakefield players being charged this week.

| What if Brough claims he deliberately aimed an insult at the touch judge but unintentionally aimed for his ears therefore it was accidental? Might see him get off with a warning letter/formal caution.

Captains are allowed to discuss decisions with the referee.
