Personally, I think you're wrong here.
Any team that wins anything does so - 99% of the time - on merit. I think your problem is that as supporters of a said winning team, you couldn't help youurselves giving it large to us at Wakey - and other fans.
You do reap what you sow, so you have to accept a bit of stick coming your way now.
You are only as good as your [inext[/i game.
If you turn up with the attitude and play like you did yesterday, that game - and subsequent ones are going to be difficult.

LOL. I think you misunderstand. We are not cocky. We are just happy to ridicule a team's fans that has perennially looked down on us, sometimes unfairly. You won't find many if any threads on here where we think we'll easily beat any team.

RL & football, the rest of the country dislike Leeds. As a football fan & Wakefield watcher I've always thought that Leeds supporters of both sports are unbearably arrogant.

I'm told that it's a very nice city, but I've no desire to ever visit due to my perception of Leeds fans!

Funny that because Leeds United’s fans come from all over West Yorkshire/Yorkshire especially the Wakefield and Castleford areas which is always funny to see fans say the hate Leeds on a Friday night but then are supporting Leeds on a Saturday afternoon.

Give over pretending as if being a Wakefield fan is some sort of unique experience in sport. Only have to look at the constant dramas, struggles and kicks in the teeth Leeds United have had to see how silly that argument is. Every team sport where one or two teams dominate for a while you get rival fans who love it when they stop....rugby league is zero different in that regard.

I have or have had a number of issues with Leeds RL but don't hate them and do wish them well. Said issues; using the Leeds United song, their wretched drum and trumpet band and, more so the past, nicking or trying to nick our best players. And as a Leeds United fan, I can assure you, mine and most Leeds fans have had their expectations well adjusted over the last 15 years. The hatred you spout is just a convenient outlet to spout prejudice.

Giving it billy big you know whats with every other teams' fans in Yorkshire - proclaiming to be the "biggest team" and yet havent won anything [ior [/ibeen in the Prem for years.
And dont say that "this is their year" as they aren't there yet.

Printer on one again with his view of 'sets of fans' as a homogenous hive mind who all share the same brain? He's been at this for years - and it's just as boring (and false) now as it always has been.

I was supporting Bradford this weekend because of the underdog tag, and the JK cup magic narrative; in the end though, Bradford won it because they thoroughly deserved to - they showed more skill, fitness, heart and determination than an embarrassingly awful Leeds side, who stank the place out. Did I enjoy it a bit more because it was Leeds? For sure - largely because of the history of Leeds fans like Printer winding us up for many years.

I'm getting bored now.
Bradford won. We all enjoyed it. We don't have to explain why.
The Leeds fan didn't. He just has to live with it or let it go.
