| Watching the replays of the try where Fox didn't catch it, I feel a bit sorry for him. The ball was quite some distance from him and there were players running back towards it. I think he just hesitated for a moment, wondering if they were better placed, and by then he'd lost it.
Poore I can't make my mind up. Players who give penalties away run on a profit and loss basis, that if they are good enough in other parts, you'll take the odd penalty. Solomona could be a liability at times with his need to offload wherever he was on the pitch, but the positives outweighed the negatives so much. I'm not sure they do with Poore, although I can't help feeling that his reputation precedes him. A couple of the holding down penalties were a bit harsh.
A great end though!

Not really an issue... in the end these discussions are all about opinion and personal view, interpretation.
I will repeat though just how much I enjoyed the game! If that was served up every week I would be a very happy rugby league supporter.

| I`m not too sure if J.Poore was fully to blame for that tackle. P.Aiton saw the red mist about a minute before & looked to start lifting the Hull player while JP had him around the chest., they could both be blamed.

| Didn't Adrian Morley used to get sent off quite regular when he was playing in Oz? He's not turned out too bad for tidying up his game. Poore does need to be smarter, but some of the holding down penalties that were given against him were harsh in my opinion, no worse than Hull's meddling in the tackle. Hopefully next year will see him refine his technical bits to his game.

I thought the same thing. The lift was worth a penalty but he landed on his back so no one hurt.
The laying on I felt he was being picked out. He was no worse than anyone else.

| Infuriating is absolutely the right title for this thread. I don't understand the negative posts after such a great win.
We played against a team that rarely get beaten at home, who if they'd beaten us would have been 5th in the league.
They have 4 players who have played for England, Ellis being possibly the best we have produced for some time and Briscoe who showed up very well against the aussies so no flash in the pan. Three more are being tipped for the same honours. Throw in an aussie international too though a while ago.
We have good players in our side but I'm thinking it would be generally regarded that we were the under dogs in that match up. Added to that the Hull coach is bigging the team up as the best he can put out and has had a great training week up to the game.
We would have to push our skills to the limit to beat them, and we did.
We gave some penalties away for holding down, but the other 100 times we tackled, the holding down was an important part of defending so is needed.
We dropped a couple of passes, but we had to push them to get the space we needed against a team who were defending well and last time out against us defended us completely out of the game. The passes that stuck were in some cases outstanding. Ali to Smith springs to mind.
We had players playing on with what looked to me like pretty serious injuries....or at least painful ones.
We had players matching up against opposition that the press talk about as being better than them, and played their best to compete, and in many cases individually came out on top.
We had a coach who planned a game that although strewn (Spell?) with errors worked in the end.
I don't understand the need to criticise everything about the club, especially the players when we actually win. Many made mistakes, but no one in my opinion played badly, and I am certain that no one put in less than 100%.
So the negative vultures who circle the forums just waiting for something to moan about, by all means criticise the club for CCJs or the ref if you like, or even each other, but in this case, in this game, the players deserve nothing but support imho.

| Commentators on sky were quite infuriating as per. Comments like 'they just wont go away!' when we're 6-0 down, like the game was dead and buried. What do they pay these idiots?

| Bear in mind that this thread was started during the match (probably in the first half), when to be fair the title was pretty apt. Both teams did their best to give it away with dumb stuff in that first half. It was basically a hot spell towards the end of the game that won us the match.
The "infuriating" thing is that we are a half-decent team that could be so much better if we cut out some of the schoolboy errors. This is highlighted by the fact we still beat Hull on their own patch without playing near our best.
