Don’t kid yourself, the championship is every bit as physical as super league. Super League is played at a quicker pace and the players are generally fitter over 80 minutes thanks to being full time but the hits are just as hard and the impact on the body the same.

Whilst what you say is true its not just whats beating in the chest that matters, its also whether the body can still take it. The ones you mentioned can. Pitts & Ashurst for us only missed one game between them last year. But some guys are done by their age. You have to recruit older players wisely and in my opinion have a good balance of experience and youth.

Would certainly add some experience.

Exactly ,and that is where Leigh got it so right , good coach , and a good mix of quality old heads and enthusiastic younger players who together made a formidable team ,until a wheel or two dropped off they were up their with the best . A sharp contrast to us , a wet behind the ears coach and a lacklustre compliment of players , a recipe for disaster as it turned out
