| I could be interested in McGuire.
He'd have to prove his fitness and go to some anger/ref whimpering classes but he's still worth a go.
But I'd rather have had Lilley. I thought Leeds were going to let him go but have apparently seen the light.

| Need someone younger.
Has been a good player but dont see logic in this one.
Could have him for one year but then could find ourselves looking at replacing him and Finn at end of next season

| We are only linked with him in an article in the YEP, there may be nothing to it.
The one thing he would bring is a winning and big game mentality and maybe steady the ship when we are in tight games (where at present we have not been able to see a number of them out)

| Can't stand the guy personally...I don't doubt his ability, it's just his obnoxious, whining attitude that I can't stand...wouldn't want him anywhere near this team

Ditto. His attitude on the pitch is dire

Your opinion of him is somewhat higher than mine, although, he does have a decent kicking game on him.
Always been a good support player but, he's no midfield general and IF Finn is to retire or be replaced, that is what we need.
Miller is still plenty good enough as his HB partner and I't take Miller over an ageing McGuire all day long
Where on earth are all the young British half backs ?
We could do with a 23 year old Danny Brough

| My thoughts exactly 1873.
Didnt we have a home grown half back and he moved west of the pennines, and spent time on loan with our dear neighbours for a while.
Struggled to get regular game time in the halves, and has found himself in the three quarters

| Have we got any 6's or 7's ready to come up from the U19s?

| It would have to come down to what sort of contract Macguire would be offered as already said he is not the player he was a few years ago. He should be considered as a squad player for Trinity at the most if he were to be signed...just hope it doesn't come back and bite Trinity if he was signed then continually injured for the season so getting a free season paid but not playing.
I would prefer a young talented possible half back who originates from the Wakefield area on a long term contract. Trinity need to build on the momentum and look towards the future. Finn could have another 2 years in him if managed correctly in my opinion. Look at Andy Lynch and he's a prop.

| With our current lofty position, perhaps we should be thinking, if he's not good enough for Leeds, he's not good enough for Trinity ?

| Hull KR are favourites apparently which makes sense with the Peacock connection

Thank god for that !
Absolutely no to maguire
We already have one of the best stand offs in SL imo, why on earth would we want him
We have two options at SH with our budget
Try some one younger like williams with a point to prove (williams hasn't quite worked out imo) or some one with a fair bit of experience but with probably only a few years in the tank
The dream would be to have the scrum half version of miller
Point to prove and smashes it
