lets not jump to assumptions that the north stand could be a quick fix, there are different circumstances to each of the three sides where the barrier's are and we have looked at a different ways that may be pleasing to the H/S and satisfy there requirements.

while Belle Vue doesn't accommodate a big attendance it will still come into the same bracket as say a stadium of say 40k build

if anyone as like said would like to donate primary to the help of the mods to the stadium, I would contact the club as there will be a fair amount of consumables used just in the alterations.

to all that attended today thanks should be given as most of the meeting was accessing who could help in what way, this is not a just a diy job but the effort's will be needed at a later date when we do crack on with it once we have some type of schedule.

I have experience in project management and would be willing to cast a critical eye over what needs to be done if that is any help, unfortunately I have a glass back and can't really offer and manual skills, other than maybe going to the shop for milk and sugar to help Baz icon_wink.gif

If there are areas of the ground that need intensive work would it be an idea to look at erecting temporary seating over the terracing in these areas.

A 2 minute Google has brought up this:
www.mobilestructures.co.uk/big-t ... -sale.html
not the big top!!, but at the bottom there are 6000 seats for sale.

What annoys me is why the council health and safety people waited until only three weeks before the start of the season to undertake their audit of the ground and then inform the club that the ground did not meet requirments. The club then have to put out a call for help from the fans. Why couldn`t the council have done their tests weeks ago, giving the club more notice and time to get the ground in order before the start of the season.

from what I understand these issue's should of been sorted some time ago.

I would certainly ask questions as to why the barrier's had been installed not to specifications anyway, as an engineer you duty bound not to install anything that doesn't comply with the law when it is directly within the public, i.e. laying paving stones that you could easily trip over within the street or in this case barrier's that in a crush similar to the Sheffield Wednesday ground where the Liverpool fans sadly lost their lives caught in a area where they couldn't get out of the way because of the caged front to stop stupid fans entering the field.
these are why we are now caught up with set standards which might seem extreme to Belle Vue

Was it the council? I thought it was the HSE.

What are the regulations? had a quick look online and could not find any specification, other than deflection testing.

Yep. Mentioned this last week or so. Permission was granted just over two years ago so I'm sure we'd have heard something if they had to come down.

it was HSE through the council which gives the license

the regs are complicated and like I said earlier was set in stone and have to be either same as or better than the regs, these was set to adhere to football grounds

hopefully we will be getting down to sorting a meeting to find out plan of improvements
we have someone getting the required advice to make sure that the work we do is what will pass, we certainly don't want to spend time redoing it thinking its right
