I think injury is the more likely reason. If Agar took everyone off who made an error defensively we'd have no back line.

| Didn't someone say that there were potential investors willing to come in as long as a certain person leaves the club? I wonder who that could be.

| Glover and Elston need to back up their promise of not being a selling club and send all enquirers away with a flea in their ears-especially Hull K R. I'm tired of seeing Chris Chester down at Belle Vue every home game. Does he pay to get in I wonder??

| From the license application I think the plan was to be spending up to the cap in year three. Obviously reality hasn't quite reflected the business plan. It's a risky time to be reducing spend with relegation returning next year. I expect Cas and Salford to improve on their respective positions so its going to be tight at the bottom end of SL.

To be fair to them we've done well to keep hold of a few of our players over the last few years but every club sells at sometime and if its a good offer that means the club can sort out our well documented bills and keep going then so be it. Until we're in at Newmarket or new investment comes in before that we are going to struggle to financially compete

Chris Chester is a Wakefield supporter to be fair. He has been coming down to BV for years.

If we are a championship club I can't really see how being at Newmarket would be much help. I also know there are still funding issues in order to build a SL standard stadium. It would make life much easier for some people if Newmarket turned out to be just a small championship Stadium something like Dewsbury.
It would be extremely dangerous to weaken the squad next season and if the club got relegated it could take years to come back.

The guy who was chief executive the last time we didn't pay the bills and went into administartion you mean? The one in charge of the day to day that has presided over a company with a clean slate being on the brink of going pop once more after just two and a half years?
I'll cut Glover some slack, he doesn't run the club day to day and is not a rugby man. Although as chairman and businessman he should have been stronger he has put his trust in people who, quite frankly, are incompetant in the roles they are in. He needs to act NOW or it will be too late. The club needs a CEO who knows how to manage a business, someone with experience and the relevent qualifications. Alongside him needs to be an experienced general manger and director of rugby to run the club and advise Glover and needed. They have at least employed a firm of accountants so we now have someone who knows what a balance sheet is but more has to be done.
So will Glover remove his mate? We'll see if he has got the bottle but failure to act will result in failure of the club. We cannot continue down the path we are. It's still just about salvagable, but the clock is ticking towards the witching hour rapidly.

Messing up the sums to the tune of a promised 3rd year licensing cap differential of £600,000 takes some doing.

Newmarket is a fair way off yet and whilst it will improve things, it won't be the holy grail some people think. Remember we won't own it and as such won't gain all the benefits of its use. We have cut a good deal but it alone won't make us rich, we need other things to be put into place as well.

| Whilst i like what cockayne brings to the team, winger is a relatively easy position to cover from within the squad, so if he has to be sold to balance the books then so be it. He would go with my thanks for his effort and commitment whilst at wakey where he has never given less than 100 percent.
Amor is a totally different issue. He is a key player for us in a position that it is not easy to recruit and especially not someone of his age and quality. He must be kept regardless of any offer made, otherwise people will lose faith in where the club is heading, especially if we're selling one of our better players at the same time as asking the relatively new fans to pay more for their ST.
If Wilkes is going then that should save a decent sum . I would also let wash brook go as other than his tackling he doesn't offer much else.
I may be in the minority here but I would then hope Ali calls it quits at the end of this season as that would save us another significant sum and for the time he spends on the pitch and how he has performed this season (where he hasn't been as effective)' he is a luxury we can no longer afford.
Finally, I do think its time for a change of chief Exec as there have been too many mistakes made under JE tenure which have seen us get into this latest situation . on the eve of the most important season in recent times, we look like we will have to reduce the numbers in our squad or the quality or both. If this allowed fresh investment into the club then that would be a much welcome bonus on top of the club being run more efficiently.

| Can anyone point me in the direction of said investors? Because there may be people talking a good game about investing but no one has actually contacted the board about any serious investment? So in the meantime the existing board will keep propping up the club. Like a lot of clubs in super league there is an underlying loss in which one or a number of individuals fund. I will name hull kr as an appropriate example to ourselves. Moving to Newmarket will give us half a chance of not only covering that loss but also allowing us to make a profit tht can be invested into the team. Unfortunately belle vue doesn't allow us to maximise our revenue on both match and non match days. So until then it's a fine balance between what the board can and can't afford to put in to the club ( or throw away on the club whichever way you look at it).

Some at this club have been doing this for years tbf.
Newmarket won't change that at all imo.
