| He made some decent runs on saturday, but had no idea what to do next. Really don't think he is a centre but seeing as he played most of his rugby before joining us on the wing I'd try him there before consigning him to the scrap bin. and going by Fox's (lack of) efforts last week then maybe sooner rather than later.

The one thing that Foxy still does really well is cart the ball up from DH - he makes cheap metres to get us out of our 20 and doesn't get leathered in the tackle; I'm not sure Reece Lyne could do that.

| My disappointment with Lynne is that he kills the play when it gets in his hands.
When he was running on the end of free flowing move he looked good but he isn't the guy for tight games.
I can't see his defence being better than Fox and he isn't as good at kick return so I'd put Mellars in or if contract allows him back we should have Cowling.
Collis and Smith are first choice centres but injuries are driving other decisions.

| Said it on another thread but the overreacting of Wakey fans never ceases to amaze me? Everything is so black and white. Win a couple and the good times are back, lose a couple and the world ends. How many times have we been here before after a few poor performances? Last year was the same this many games in and then we end up in play offs meaning fans get unrealistic expectations this season. Lynne wasn,t great on sat but he was nowhere near the worst and a lot of the others are much more experienced. He did some good things to get himself into positions but then didn't finish the play off. How many games has he actually played for us? Give him a break. Maybe he needs a spell on the sidelines but the vitriol on here says more about some of the numb nut posters than him as a player IMO. Rugby league fans are fickle as they come, I'd hate to play for Wakey with all the Dickson the sideline

I'd agree with that and i'd probably stick with Fox in the short term. But if he carries on with the Bambi on ice act in defence for much longer then it could be time for a change. Lyne might get a chance under those circumstances but he wouldn't be in my top 6 or 7 picks at centre.

| Better game today from him, at least in defence.

Not really imho. One on one tackling was ok but his positioning was all over the place.

| No attacking option but stood up mostly in defence.
Personally I thought Walshaw and Wildie surpassed a player who has been in first team reckoning all season.
IMO he has had more than enough time, but he's a RA favourite so I expect no change.

| I know Reece so was there today. I've no problem with this thread, he's been well bellow par lately.
Few factors though, massive drop in form Wakefield in general. Left side service has dropped right off the scale.
Massive difference from early part of yr. You'll notice Bennys tries have in the most part dried up unless he's on a walkabout off the wing, also when he tore his pec v London he was out 2 week but off weights 6 n lost strength size n I think a little confidence, in general and his body.
If you look closely he stands in the tackle many times n wins many pens, not as weak as some make out.
Actually thought he was far from worst last week and ok today. Good stint in defence, had a real job on with Hanson. Poor before that granted, but think Wakefield will take a lot from today n start improving, good run of games coming. thought you gave Wigan the game today with poor errors n pens rather than they won it. 2 forward passes off dummy half n 3kicks out on full bring all they deserve I'm afraid, especially vs the leaders!
If he plays n doesn't look better he'll deserve dropping but with service Ali Lyne n Benny could be a force again.
Looked good early doors no reason it cant again.

Said it since his injury he has lost confidence, he needs to start believing and backing himself because we all know he has the pace we've just never seen it. I want him to do well but I think a week or two rest might do him so good.

Knowing him personally I nearly threw my pint at magic. Game was gone but had open field to run break, pass take on fullback. Did none. A sign of confidence i think. Actually couldn't believe grief he got over the general game because he wasn't that bad was far worse players.
Think he may improve, saw some signs, with Ali back n a decent run of games we'll see.

Better defence yes, but hardly much of an improvement, he ran from dummy half more than usual, prob been told to as that is our main tactic when coming away from our ½. But still v. average.

| At the end of the day he's a young lad who needs to be given time. Getting on his back is pointless. He looks to have some of the required attributes to be a good player, a lot will depend I think on what he's got upstairs.
