| been up to the ground at Stanley and the ground suffered an over night frost which is thawing nicely its expected to get the same tonight but not as severe
the kick off may be extended to 1-30 from 12-00 to allow any shaded areas to get extra sun later on but as yet we hope for the earlier time

I heard that the pitch was deemed unplayable by someone at the club?

when I left at 12 there was a few areas where the ad boards, dug out and a large tree at the bottom corner was casting a shadows and had still left a white areas but could accept a key pushed in most of the pitch
sheeting was going to be laid in the worst area
at worse it will just be delayed tomorrow

| well cas academy yr 7 are into the semi finals of the yorkshire cup despite drawing 6-6 at st mary`s "hull"
the scoreline only tells half the story with what i can only describe has the most biased referreeing performance ive seen in my 30 years of been involved in the game and whos son was playing for the opposition.
this wasnt a good performance from cas by any standards but they did enough to through on the away team ruling which in the end was just about deserved.
after some strange decisions to say the least all game all going in hulls favour the cas acad lead 4-6 going into stoppage time and had hull camped on there own line, 5 penaltys later and a player sent off for tackling a player into touch the hull side still hadnt scored and then has hull lost possesion and ref called the scrum the final play of the game the cas loose forward picked up the ball and took the tackle only for the ref to pull him for allegedly raising his elbow and whilst he gave the panalty he told his son to take the two to level the scores un-
aware that the there is no extra time in school games they took the kick and the ref blew for full time thinking he`d rescued the game for his sons team his face was a picture when told of the rules.
sorry to rattle on but im still angry that this bafoon can be let anywhere near a rugby game and my lad didnt even play.

| Ossett Academy year 8 also into the semi final of the Yorkshire Cup after beating a very usefull Mincethorpe team.
Ossett went 6-0 up early on but Mincethorpe came back to level matters before Ossett scored again to take a 12-6 interval lead.
Playing up hill on a very heavy field with a big physical team coming down the slope Ossett looked to be up against it. However a very spirited and skill full second half display saw Oosett run away with the game. A final score of 46-6 was a fair reflection of the Wakefield schools domination but was hard on a very game Mincethorpe.
Some brutal defence took the sting out of the opposition and a superb all round team display brought its rewards for the Ossett Academy boys.
Semi final is against St Wilfred's.

That's a good account of the game Clan - the Ossett boys looked really impressive and are going to take some beating; I was particularly impressed with the little hooker - he obviously comes from good stock!

| Today's cup round game ended up being a one sided affair for the Stanley Rangers U14s.
With all due respect to the Wigan St Pats side they wasn't even in the same league standard but did for most of the game try and put a valiant resistance in sporadic bursts within the game and nearly cross the line to score.
It did finish a heavy defeat at 64-0, but for a side that had been reduced to 14 before the start due to players leaving and injury and then to suffer two more of their players to knocks in the game then reduce them to twelve men in the second half it was quite understandable why the second half collapse happened
while being happy with the result you do come away thinking that you wished it had been a more of a challenge.
The draw for the next round was then made in the club house and we have been lucky enough to get another home draw but have drawn one of the better sides Widnes St Maries
now time to prove our selves against the best from over the pennines
tough one also for Normy Knights

| to be honest snowie, stanley and normy should get through the ties. widnes st maries are bottom end premier division and leigh are div 1. if you go on the north west counties web site 13s to 15s the tables and results are on there. the st helens area are strongest at that age over there.

it is difficult to judge as leigh east have had a good run in their div even though they a div lower, there are four sides that I've been looking at that give off a vibe and yes two do come from the saints area
was you at the Normy game today ? what was the score ?
