The other things that must change are culture, attitude and professionalism.
The whole place needs a lift.
Also what does make a good coach because looking round they are thin on the ground with what have been reasonably good coaches looking below average.'"
Think what Carter ment was if the player the Coach wanted was to much much ,the coach could not have him .That is a lot different than Carter saying to the Coach I have signed this player and that player ext without telling the coach

| Powell would definitely be an improvement.
With no disrespect, ideally, I wouldn't want the current owners to have any involvement in signing new players for on behalf of a possible incoming coach and hopeful new owners.
Not just due to poor player recruitment in recent years, but with certain fallings out with a players agent, and that agent not wanting his players at Wakefield whilst a certain person involved, does this not reduce our options.

It does and it should be sorted out. But wasn't he trying to stiff us, hence the argument?

The players that left the club signed contracts elsewhere whilst Poching was in charge and during the period when we looked nailed on for relegation.
The so called player power period got us out of that mess but contracts were honoured.

| Keeping Whitbread would of been immense, but he’ll surely have suitors in SL and NRL i reckon, especially how young he is. I don’t think one fan would be sad to see Proctor go.

That's not really news about Proctor. He only had a one year deal anyway.
I'm sure I saw his wife post something about leaving.

| Either way, Carter shouldn't really be involved in plans for next year. It's not his decision anymore.

| The Powell rumour is interesting. Would be good to know where this one came from? Hopefully not from the Castleford independent forum.
We want to move away from the duds we've been given on loan over the last year or two. Innes Senior is probably a great lad but he's not very good at rugby. Draw a line in the sand with these sort of players.
Whitbread - We'll have a queue at the door.
Tanginoa - Not sure after been on the side line most of the year. Always liked him and would prefer him to stay.
Atoni - Rolled his sleeves up after Fifita came back, showed some real grit but the initial poor form had already secured his fate IMO.
Proctor - Saw spells of his former NRL brilliance but 5 minutes here and there doesn't cut it. Obviously only a year contracted anyway. I'm sure he'll be glad to get back to his kids.
Langi - Nothing special and would imagine he'll be on a fair salary, would prefer to see him move on.
Lyne - Rumoured to Cas. Would hurt a lot of fans but in honesty he'd be no major loss IMO, declined massively in the last few years. Probably hungrier/younger players about.
Battye - I'm sure he was linked with Keighley and a few other clubs earlier in the year. Didn't think I'd be saying this but I'd hang on to him. Handy player with lots of experience at this level.
Morgan Smith - Linked with FC from what I saw on social media. Not really done much for us but would've liked to see him play more. Difficult situation with Lino and Gale been on contract.
Hood, Ashurst, Pitts and Kay will be key going into next year.

Heard a while ago battye linked with Sheffield. I don’t think hood will be key moving onto next year would much rather see bowes getting a chance. Plus you missed griffin off that list he will be immense in the champ for us

Pretty much agree with that but I’ll add some additional ones. Agree about Senior, he is okay but I don’t think he’s what’s needed.
Lineham - put in bags of effort and was solid for a number of weeks but time to move on.
Kershaw - would be definite keep and starting winger next season. Would be very good in championship.
Croft - keep for me to partner Kershaw as he’s a great pair of hands and will continue to improve.
Pratt - had a few MOTM performances and scored 5 in 10 for York. I’d definitely sign him up if he’s not already.
Windrow/Robson - not sure on these. I feel Windrow should have broken through already though if he had the ability to match his size.
We need a quality winger though. Fax and York may miss playoffs. Wonder if it’s be worth making a play for Walmsley or AJ Towse. There’s many options.

| Hope the club realise if Applegarth stays on as coach the “doom and gloom” and “negativity” will follow into next season as well. Getting in a coach like Powell and allowing him to crack the whip without caving into player power is what the club needs most.
