In sport you fight to the end. Its just the way it is.
There are 21 games left this season. Anything can happen. We may not win another game or we may find a way and win more than someone else.
But you don't give up until the last whistle.'"
To what end? To do the same old next year, and the year after. What's the point of being in SL if this is all were ever going to be, which without a benefactor that's what it will be.

Honestly I don't understand your point.
You try to be the best you can be.
If that's 11th in Super League then that's what it is.
Just dropping down a league to see some wins seems counter intuitive to me. If we went down, wouldn't you still want the team to do the best it can?

There is no fun in watching crap like we have for the last 24 years. We have the odd blip, but it's pretty soul destroying. Coming 11th in SL every season isn't anything that would bring enjoyment to me, being more competitive at a more appropriate level for a club with our resources would be (of course there is no guarantee that we would be).

I'm not sure how long you've watched but I've watched them after relegation and I assure you getting heavily beaten at Barrow or Batley is no fun either. Unless you have money it's not suddenly going to be all rainbows.
I've had lots of fun watching Wakefield over the last 24 years and 20 before that. I've had some depressing times too. It's just how it is.

| I heard, allegedly, in the chip shop, it was, allegedly offered to someone for £100k recently, allegedly. A couple of weeks ago, allegedly. Can’t get rid quick enough, allegedly.
Without a director of rugby or the like, you have no chance with the set up as is anyway, allegedly.

Firstly, we need that investor, sooner rather than later. Ideally someone who is willing to invest a little more what MC has, Ken Davy levels are a pipe dream right now.
If that investor comes in, then we need to bring in a knowledgeable right hand man, who knows the sport, players, and who to bring in that would fit into the team. Also just ad importantly, knowing when to offload a player.
Personally, though, I don't think it's necessarily the end if we went down.
We do have, and its clear to see dead wood in the squad. Don't all players become free agents. I don't think we'd get many takers at the minute, but at the same time, apart from our home grown players, I wouldn't be interested in keeping many, so the big earners would be off our books.
Added to our young players, and a choice selection of current home grown players in our squad, some shrewd signings, then we could have a competive squad.
Salford (twice), Castleford (twice), Huddersfield and Hull KR have all gone down and come back stronger. I'm also old enough to remember Wigan's stranglehold on the sport at the end of the 80's. At the start of that decade they weren't even in the top flight'"
Most of the team is dead wood let's hope we get rid .Think you will get more fans ,coming to watch a young team in the Championship If we go down the same root of bringing in old players it will kill us revamp ground or not

Problem will be keeping hold of the best young players and maintaining the structure to bring more through. We will instantly top up the squads of the likes of Hull KR.

| I think should try to come to a deal with some of our dead wood. Offer them to championship clubs where they might make a difference. If we are going to lose every week we might as well do it watching our home grown youngsters

I agree with your sentiments but we shouldn't give up yet!
A full meeting is needed at the club with MC and JC telling the players what is expected. I believe MC held such a meeting before and told the players his door was open to players who didn't want to remain at the club.
The time has come for such action . It's true there are enough games left to avoid relegation but I see not even a glimmer of hope for a win yet.

I’m not sure there are many if any that don’t want to be here, the problem is that some just aren’t good enough. And lets be honest if this is to be some of those players last year as a full time pro on a decent contract then they aren’t walking away from it.

| The problem now even if they find someone with financial strength albeit this is something we have singularly failed to do where are the players coming from. The overseas quota is full and the domestic players of the quality we need have been signed up. I regret we are stuck with the players we have with the odd short term loan because that was the choice we made.
I see not surprisingly that our coach believes we will turn things around unfortunately when is the question because the season clock is ticking.

| You’ve certainly missed the guidance of Chris Chester. As director of rugby he has been instrumental in most of all our big signings at Leigh.

He wasn't our Director of Rugby. He was our head coach and he failed in his duties for a significant time. So we're not missing him at all!

| To all those I've had a go at re our 2 at the top, my humble apologies, you were right. They ARE running the club into the ground. My trust is gone. This is an appalling deal.
