| Tbh I thought the final score flattered Wigan, the try right on HT and the intercept were both key, especially the intercept which was against the run of play.
I thought the ref had a decent game and that our lads played as well as they could in that despite the score they kept their shape in D, which was generally solid, the effort was there from mins 1-80 and we kept going.
Overall tho, Wigan dominated position and possession from the moment they scored from their 1st set, which came from our mistake defending a set restart drop out from under posts. That, the try on HT, another on FT and the intercept made all the difference score-wise
Thanks for a good season boys and your efforts in an entertaining game today

| Watched it earlier and can’t argue with the result, Wigan were the better side overall. The lads will have gained from the experience though and the club deserves some credit for being one of the very few teams to have taken the reserves league seriously this year. Most clubs have pretty much extracted the urine out of it this year, withdrawing from games, filling their teams with local amateurs and playing young scholarship lads before they are ready. It needs looking at for next season.

That’s there problem and possibly allowed us to test ourselves right to the last game this year. We have played a good mix of first teamers, real reserves and second and even first year players. Who’s going to benefit in the future, us or them?
Some real stand out young players for me who I knew little about but have real confidence that in an emergency they could step up.
Scriven (the Wigan commentary team loved him), he was everywhere, a real non stop action player, really liked him.
Camplin also looked useful, lots of enterprise.
Roberts a prop I think looks to have potential.
Of the more established youngsters Shaw and especially Windrow were the pick.
The two most experienced players on show led the line. Kershaw yer again ran his blood to water. Butler did well in attack but his defence was really good, put in a few crucial tackles to stop a truly runaway scoreline.
I firmly believe we missed Evans, at that level he has some real X-Factor but never mind.
Lots to be happy with.
Have Wigan cornered the market in oversized young props?

Not oversized but big and mobile. Brannan is 19, Harvey Hill, Max Wood and Junior Nsemba are all still academy age. Jack Bibby is 20. Only James McDonnell is in his early 20's (22) and he is heading to Leeds next year.

They may all still be Academy age but are they full time contracted players? I may be wrong but a fair few of ours were not contracted players. TBH I’m not sure how it works with these players such as Butterworth as to whether they get paid at all? Or how they train. Maybe Luppy can explain.
Wigans ability to retain these lads is a huge advantage which is fair enough.
Basically for our one Shaw or Windrow you look to have twice that. More power to your elbow, I wish all clubs did the same.

| Agree with most thats been said on here the interception try totally changed the game it could so easily be 18 18 and not 24 12, and the lads really felt they could win it.they where much more bigger and quicker but up till the last 10 mins we really stuck at it.but overall they had a good season and alot of lads esp the younger ones will have learnt so much i know my lad as and will grow for this
Scriven was really good,i first saw him in may on his return from 18 months or so out and he as improved week in week out which is good. Apperentley when he was younger and starting out at academy he was a much sort after player when at leeds.think hes same age group as bowes.im sure he willbe offered somthing over the next few weeks.
Roberts (who i aslo seen mentioned)hes played academy this year and probably for me been one of best and again i expect him to be kept in some capacity.
Just one more game now then thats the season done with bulls away for academy on Thursday night.....
One final thing the rfl get stick for how poor they can be well the losers medals today did say RESVE grand final on them ...made me chuckle

Not sure whos been paid from reserves squad dont think scriven is due to a injury and really couldnt say regards others but what i do know the reserve only train twice a week no gym just 2 field sessions with the academy lads.and my lad only recognised 1 or 2 players from when we played the wigan academy too.
For me if there forwards are 19/20 years old we had forwards at 17/18 years old them 2 years at this level is quite big

76901_1662991480.jpg We're all Trin aren't we?:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_76901.jpg |

| Great effort from the boys
Their last try in the 1st half was a mile forward - and no, I haven't got the Trin binoculars on, as I was right in line with it - made a difference at HT,
2nd half, we came out with great intent, but the intercept try killed us.
One way traffic after that tbf.
wigan were a bigger team, but I'm glad I went to see the effort from 1-17.
Good to meet you Luppylad!
Up the Trin!
