| Quote: Pat Bateman "They seem to be marketing Murphy a fair bit on Twitter with his finishers etc. Driving around Wakey you’d never think we had a RL team. Some savvy advertising, boards etc would make a difference, bring the feel good factor back to the city. Murphy is an advertisers Wet Dream if marketed right.'"
I only look at the facebook page, but he features in 6 of the first 11 images you come across, so I suspect somebody has got the idea.
He's actually slightly more marketable than TJ. He looks a bit more boy band, a bit more trendy and he is certainly less awkward on TV than TJ was to start with. It's only marginal as TJ wasn't far off. However I might be wrong but I get the feeling that young Murphy might be a bit more up for it than most, he clearly believes in himself and that comes across.

I was thinking more of renewals for starters.

Not particularly although I don't think he's quite the antichrist that Gaskell was on arrival. 3 year extension for Murphy would outweigh any negativity amongst the silent season ticket purchasing majority regarding Gale.

We will not argue but my opinion is different. I was not that fussed about losing Miller but if this is his replacement

I often wonder if TJ regrets extending his stay and what his advice to Murphy would be now.

But if it's Gale you mean then he offers everything that people have been accusing Miller of lacking for years - he can run a game, he can kick close to the line, he's no slower than Miller. he has destroyed us for years, he has better hair them Miller - OK the last one is false.
We had all this with Finn - brilliant as it turned out.
Westerman - Brilliant as it turned out.
Sometimes as fans we have to accept our limitations, it's hard, I struggle myself. But maybe it's just a case that the Coach knows best, he knows what he's got and what he hasn't, and how a player will help create a team. We have a relatively young team, we desperately need some nouse, that was evident most of the season. For me it's our defence that has shone rather than our attack, but that won't win us every game, we need an old head or two.
Slightly OTT, but here's a conspiracy theory for you, have you ever seen Gale miss two drop goals, especially against us? Me neither, wonder if he was doing his alleged future employer a favour

Quite the opposite I suspect.
TJ was always first choice once he got going, never had to worry IMHO. So he was always in the spotlight and always able to sell himself.
If he'd gone to say Saints at say 21 for his first big deal and then picked up so many injuries do you think he'd have walked back into the team every time - I doubt that very much.
He certainly wouldn't have been in a position where despite a number of injury concerns he got a massive deal from Catalan. Wakefield were his passport to that deal and the same will apply to Murphy.
Lets be right here, the offer Trinity will make him will hardly be peanuts, especially for a 20 year old! It's not like TJ was on poor money and even now it's not like we pay our players in beer tokens.
At Trinity he is safe to develop for a few more seasons, and if he's luckier than TJ injury wise his big move may arrive a year or two earlier. That would be my advise and I suspect it would be Toms advice.
Remember also Toms only 27, he's a few years left yet if he can stay fit.

| Not just slightly OTT.
I like Gale as a player but I'd rather have a younger model
And also, we need someone to partner Lino. I'm not sure they would work well together but in the absence of anyone else I guess Gale ticks a lot of boxes.

| Mike Rush at St Helens has firmly set his sights on Lewis Murphy as Grace’s replacement, and he’ll be happy to pay to get him!
We’ll do well to keep him as they can blow us away in terms of his wages and they can offer him stability, Finals and a better platform to get into the England team

Who cares about Mile Rush and that's next year so to Saints. He'd have to pay enough to rebuild the West terrace for now.
