Phew. Well done Willzay. For a second I was worried no one would find anything negative to say about this.

Then why criticise the signing of Mimms then, if he was signed as a squad player.

If your referring to Whitbread. I think he’s been good. Tends to make regular consistent metre gains and puts himself about in defence. Overall think he’s been a good pick up. He’s not a flash player and for me looks like he’s bulked up for the prop role.'"
Not having a go at Minns as you say hard to judge him as he as not played a lot Just saying that the players W Poaching as brough into the club so far seem to be younger and are there week in week out .And it looks like he is willing to give the young players a fair crack .So it must be a move in the right direction for the club

| We were discussing young Widnes prop Tyler Dupree recently and I see he has gone to Salford immediately with Salford prop Josh Johnson going the other way in a swap deal.

Sounds like a signing for the sake of it.

Apparently we're letting him go for cap space to bring in Rhys Kennedy from Brisbane for this year.
I'm gutted butler didn't work out for us as he was brilliant in 2019 with London in Super League.
He came too us out of shape and it took him awhile to get some fitness back. But i genuinely think with consistant game time he'll find his form again. I hope he does really well for you as he has the size and ability.
Also heard we've signed Tanginoa from you for next year, any of you guys heard the same? I'd be surprised if true unless it's for alot of Money and Butler is to help ease the loss of him?

Doubt it regarding Tanginoa, unless you’re willing to pay a big transfer fee. Don’t think he’s OOC for a bit yet but might be wrong.

If we plan to keep playing him at prop then I’d rather cash in on him if Wire are wanting to stump up. He’s devastating as a wide runner but I can’t see Ashurst ever losing the shirt as long as he’s here at trinity unfortunately.
Better that we sell and use the money for an actual prop.

They have shown in the recent past they don’t mind stumping up for a transfer fee so I wouldn’t put it past them.
If he wants to go (as I’ve no doubt he will be being offered more money) let him.
He’s a cracking player on his day but his day at the moment is too few and far between.
There are loads of reasons potentially for this including him potentially having his head turns.
No point keeping a player who wants to be somewhere else especially if we can command a fee.
On current form he wouldn’t be too much of a challenge to replace.
I do think we have issues in our second row. The lads we have are all good pros but they are all very similar..apart from Kalepi when he is on form and that is why it would be sad to see him go, but he’s lost his mojo no doubt and a move may be best for both parties.

I agree about our second row having issues and I was having a conversation last week and it was about how our second rows are solid but more defensive players who couldn’t break their way out of a wet paper bag. They are honest pros but it’s painful to see a weapon in Tangonoa cart it up to the big men on the middle when he used to bust more tackles in a single game than Ashurst and Pitts combined over a season.
That’s why I say if we are planning to keep using Tanginoa at prop we may as well sell him and free up the cap space for an actual prop or a position we need some quality in like LF.

Personally I’m not a Kelepi fan, never have been but I get why others are.
He’s nowhere near consistent enough for me. His attack has been off for ages. His defence is to put it mildly suspect.
For me people are seeing the Tanginoa they want to see not the actual one.
Cash and a free quota spot would do me just fine. However I’m in the minority I accept that.
What a do know is Kelepi is not the answer for Warrington.

Was devastating, he’s been in the past tense for a season and a half.
I don’t think it’s as easy as just switching it back on, if he’s lost it he’s lost it.
Sorry but don’t hold with this SR v Prop guff, he’s been equally ineffective at both rather than more effective at one.
I’ve been on his back since the end of last season, I’m on record. I just do not see this devastating player, never did. He’s not a patch on Fifita who’s been a far better player even when injured.

If you go back to end of 2020 he repeatedly got MOTM performances and made the dream team. You don’t do that by being largely ineffective. He was one of the best second rowers in the comp. He used to charge out and put some real bell ringers on in defence too. That was end of 2020 at second row.
Pre season 2021 we were struggling to recruit at prop and he’s played almost every game there since. As you say he has been ineffective but in my opinion he wasn’t ineffective at SR.
The very odd game he has been moved to SR he has played better than at prop but we still haven’t seen anything like the form he showed on arrival. It will take a string of games to get back to that I fear. He may be ruined now unfortunately so I’m with you I’d probably rather see a spot and salary freed up.

| If Tanginoa goes to Warrington they’ll play him as a right side second row and use him in much the same way as they used Ben Murdock-Masila. The likes of Williams and Widdop will get the best out of his ability, we’ll see him making busts and tearing holes in defences again.
He’s been mismanaged at Trinity and while it may have been out of a necessity it’s still very poor
