| Working in a school environment the biggest news ATM for me is that at present when one child gets a positive result the whole class has to go home for 10 days even though the rest don’t test positive, shortly the only person to go home is the child sat at the side of them, which will be a godsend for parents ,education and schools alike ,although the kids probably won’t like it . We have to draw the line in the sand and live with this virus like flu with maybe a booster jab every year to up our immunity levels just like the flu jab, and many other ailments that affect humans ,now that the majority of the English vulnerable population has the vaccine the symptoms for most will not be life threatening and will mean a few days at home kicking our heels . Personally I don’t see hospitals been inundated with masses of the population ,we’ve got to approach this new era with the old British stiff upper lip and got on with it ,not gung-ho but with precautions and wear masks where and when it’s sensible for the user to do so .Supermarkets and the like have always been a place teaming with snotty kids and adults spreading their colds n germs ,so wear a mask ,I will even though for the first 10 mins I’m looking through foggy glasses ,but this is a small price to pay in the bigger picture . We as a country have come a long way since those ludicrous queues and shelf stripping of the early pandemic ,we need to keep moving forwards with caution and there is nothing to say don’t take extra precautions if personally required to keep you and your loved ones safe ,but keep moving forwards ,it’s the only way to get our lives back .
