We have been advised by Leeds Rhinos that they will not be travelling to France to fulfil their scheduled fixture against Catalans Dragons.
The consequences of this decision on the match, and any sanction, will be determined by the RFL Board.
What are the possible consequences?'"
They could fine the Rhinos for not fulfilling their fixture. Maybe, award the points to Catalan.
Having said that, I dont think they will do either and simply postpone the fixture, which could be tough on Catalan, who have only played 4 fixtures, compared to the 7 played by some.
What is a little odd, is that football matches, apart from those in Italy seem to be going ahead behind closed doors but, this one cant ?
This situation, according to those leading the country, is only going to get worse and the talk is of major disruption to society for 4-6 months.
Absolutely unprecedented during my lifetime and I, like many others, just dont know quite hat to think, it's quite surreal and equally worrying.
I wonder how many Rhinos fans had booked or, have made the trip over there ?
Our own fixture, although 7 weeks away must already be a serious doubt - the UK will be close to the peak of disruption around that time.
