My take on trying to answer Fishermans question would be to suggest that playing Tupou on the wing was a good idea, he had his most influential game for ages and it also allowed Arundel who I think is our best centre to play and he was excellent. The other big point is that because of injuries we played Max , Miller and Rocky at 1,6 and 7 which in my opinion is our best option, it worked well two years ago and I hope is now not tinkered with and given time to develop. Rocky defending on the right side had the pace to cut down Ratchford when he was running on the outside having received the ball behind the runner. Miller was poor in the first half but got involved in the second and showed some good touches. The other big difference was that we completed sets. Attitude was excellent as well'"
Arundel definitely is the best centre in the club and I hope the bond between him and Johnstone isn't interrupted. Pitts does the little things right and you can see why he was Captain at London and why they did what they did. Thought Westerman was really good in the 2nd half and Tangata and Navarette did their jobs superbly.

Does every one of your posts have to be an advert for Ryan Hampshire. You’re like some odd RL dating app!
Hampshire has never in the two and a bit seasons he’s been at the club ever gotten close to being a first choice HB, I’m sorry but he just hasn’t.
All his best games and he’s had a few, have been from FB or on the wing. He has never had what I would call a match winning game at HB.
Today was no different. Today was won by the pack and the generally excellent defensive mentality shown by the whole team. Neither Hampshire or Miller had a massive impact on the game other than that.
It wasn’t a HB’s game to be fair but let’s at least be honest. Both had poor first halves and much better second halves. Whether Brough would have done better or worse is immaterial as he wasn’t playing was he!
So please please stop over promoting this player and just let him get on with it and find his level, whatever that might be. I really don’t think this constant overhyping is helping the lad, in fact I think in the past it’s positively hampered him
He probably has two or three more games to prove himself before Brough returns. If he wants to keep Brough out he needs to improve quite a bit on previous outings in those remaining games imho.
As I say today was not a day for HB’s so I’m not going to judge him or Miller harshly but likewise I’m not going to give them credit they don’t deserve. As part of the team they played there part but as the MOM tells you, neither were the stars.
If the weather is better on Friday I suspect we will get a better idea if they are the future or another dead end.
Just my opinion and I don’t suppose you’ll agree but that’s forums for you

| I though it was good to see the Miller, Hampshire ,Jowitt at full back combination again after two year .They played two matches against Hull away and Leeds at home were unlucky to lose both but the ball movement was a lot faster than at any other time of the season .Hope all 3 are given time in the team to let it develope. Though we did not miss Brough at all .

| Brough are you mad, he does not improve the team but tries to dominate it and at 37 too old to do so. Miller’s pass set up the first try, Hampshire actually took the ball up which Brough never does and Jowitt covered the ball and made only one mistake in very windy conditions. If you think Hampshire needs to justify his place, I say you are wrong it is for Brough to show why he should replace him, even if it is in the reserves.

Great win today!!'"
Wisely put there Mick.
I try to say the similar things to my kids, when they wonder why I don’t always come all over enthusiastic when we win.
I will also say that you dont write a team off after one game but the same can also be said about a win doesn't all of a sudden mean you are too 4 fodder either.
A good way to keep grounded

| We kicked out on the full, 3 or 4 times give them a 7 tackle set due to poor kicks, knocked on on the first tackle a couple of times and still beat a team that is tipped to be up there. The errors are still there but we managed to compensate them with attitude, graft and team spirit which should give us confidence going into the other rounds.

I really thought that loose carry by Tanganoa followed by his 2 head highs would cost us the game. Was getting ready to applaud the gallant losers. What a drag that last 9 minutes was. Icing on the cake was seeing TJ not only score but burn off three Wire guys in the process.

Well, I was at Hull kr and have to admit I was feeling pretty doom and gloom, probably a slight hangover from the dreadful second half of last season in part. But I'll always praise and be more optimistic if it is warranted. We now know this new side has good performances in them and we have some hope of a good season.
People just come on to give thoughts and opinions, some of which you won't agree with. That's life

I said at the game to my lads, that was the best part of the game, no Only TJ scoring but the manner in which he took i, to be quicker with ball in hand in those conditions, is a great sign that not only he is match fit, he seems to have not lost any pace after last seasons injury

| TJs try was great to see for the win and him personally but it wasn't his speed pulling away that did it. The wing and centre were still on the floor so there is no way they would have caught anyone.
It was his reaction speed and ability to keep ball in field of play.
I hope we see him in full flight again soon.
