| We tried to compete with the con club one season on price. Complete disaster. Revenue went down alarmingly.
And nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything. If you do great, all profits back into the club. If you don’t, no problem, life goes on.

Plus we generally buy refreshments at half time in the ground.
Also spend considerable amount each season on Trinity clothing.
Also subscribe to Trinity TV.'"
I don't mind folk drinking at the Con club or anyone else if they have always done so/are members/prefer the ambience - however I do think it disloyal if its purely based on price, that's just cheap imho excuse the pun.

I dont go for the disloyal thing.
Just as it's up to the Con club to make people to want to go there, which they seem to do by selling cheap ale, it's also up to the club to make BV a more preferable option, which they can do in a number of different ways.
Personally I prefer a proper pint in a glass, rather than electric ale in a plastic pot. If that makes me dis loyal, I'll have to live with it.
Having said that, Snowies ale, even in a plastic pot was excellent

What happened to the Ale that was being served out of the shed in the North Stand?

| If a few of you come in a taxi and you want a few jars, then it makes sense to use the Con club to offset the price of the taxi presumably both ways, but if your just having an odd pint, surely for the sake of a quid you'd have a drink in the ground and support the club.

I regularly pay£1.69 for a pint of Ruddles in Wetherspoons, surely by your logic I'm being disloyal to Wetherspoons if I start to pay £5 a pint at Trinity then, Vasty??? Not all supporters can afford those sort of prices.

the plastic pots I used to hate but it was a safety aspect that wouldn't go away, you can get a harder one that doesn't give off a nasty taste but are expensive to the ones used

I'm sure you can get it even cheaper from the supermarkets, but I don't think that was the point he was making.

I wouldn't sell to Wetherspoons my costings wouldn't allow it, I would of been working for next to nothing think it was £45 a cask they was after to give you an idea I sold at £65 and that was average, ruddles will be brewed on a massive scale

That wasn't my point. Do you not think the club is a slightly different issue than everyday boozing? Do you think at 55 I'd choose to pay fifty quied for a polyester top? No I do so for the sake of the club. I pay over the odds for a number of things to do with the club that to me is what supporting is all about. Yes a fiver is expensive but if it makes the club money and gives us the team we all crave is it not worth the cost or am I missing something.
The choice is yours at the end of the day as I clearly stated but I think if you can afford to attend a match you've probably got enough money to pay a fiver for one or two pints 11 times a year so please don't use that social concience guff on me thanks. If you wish to drink elsewhere for a million and one reasons I don't give a toss but to narrow it down to a few quid for a pint, nah that strikes me as negative thinking. If you're drinking more that a few pints fair enough spread the cost though personally as Bren says I don't think I could handle more than a pint or two at a game.
As for your Wetherspoons analogy it's a bad one, a hugely expoitative company that sells cheap crap beer to anyone any time of the day in any state both physical and metal whilst aggressively destroying any opposition nearby - very social concience and very socialist I'm sure.
That last bit was just a bit of fun by the way.

The point that I was making, wayne, was that if you can't or won't pay a greatly inflated price for a pint it is not being disloyal, but merely a case of economics. Daddycool was was right when he said that, "You can either take it or leave it". Simple as!!!
