| Quote: PopTart "I will certainly say he was right.
I always said Finn would and was good but I thought Grix would be backup.
I'm not sure anyone including Vasty expected it to work out quite this good though.'"
Nobody can be totally sure any player will be a success ditto nobody can be sure they will fail though some on here seem to think they know best.
What I did know is Finn was smart. Fundamentally he's all wrong, he's to slow, he's a bit to squat in shape, he's not agile - he has nothing but his brain and that's what's given him a career. Unlike every other attribute a player can have it's the only one that continually improves (unless you're Hock or Chase) - something that had left him and a number of British players under rated. At the end of 2015 what we needed more than anything was a calm player who'd been around the block and in no way felt himself to good for us - for me he was a perfect choice. As were Woods and Grix, it's not all about physicality. Hudds have made a good choice with Ridyard.
The game needs to start looking deeper when signing players.

| Fifita has that big daft lad schtick down to a tee - but the contribution to morale of a player with his level of destructive power and sense of enjoyment is immeasurable; he's become a fan favourite, and I'd wager that his teammates also love having him around. One of the best signings we've made in a long time.
Meanwhile, Grix and Finn absolutely bossed that game; Finn is like a metronome - he just keeps ticking away doing exactly what's asked of him, without being spectacular or grabbing attention; and Grix has just the right combination of brains, skill and bottle - he almost invariably does the right things at the right time in the right way - and there's huge value in that.

Funny you should say that because the first time I really noticed what a smart player Finn was was when he was paired with Grix playing for Ireland (I already rated Grix). Can't be a coincidence that we made great efforts to sign both. Although the connectivity between the two was more obvious at International level because Grix played S/O they do still play well together.
In Wood, Grix and Finn we may have signed three bargain basement players but together they make a top notch 3 for ten pound deal - brilliant work. Don't know totally who's reasonable as Finn was a Smith signing but credit to all.

| Jon Wells at the touch screen showed how well Grix conned the opposition defence into leaving gaps

I suppose money talks with a short career they have, But what I've been told makes me think MC has run over Steve Gills cat with Cas letting Chase go to Widnes to play against us & Cas allegedly trying to get our big Dave glad MC dug a bit deeper to keep him, Now it's time for us fans to bring a mate/next door neighbour anybody who wouldn't normally come to a game and sample the Trinity re-surge where having and put more coppers into the bank for MC.

| When I heard Chase had gone to Widnes and would play against us instead of somebody actually on their game, I was pretty happy about that.
You can tell Cas have moved on a bit, no longer looking to poach our also rans, they're trying for the cream now.....pffft

Steve Gill is a false friend. He will do what ever it takes to help Cas and he doesn't give a s... about Wakey. He should not be trusted.
He will stitch us up at any opportunity to benefit Cas.

Why wouldn't he - he's the Chairman at Cas! I'd like to believe that MC would take the same attitude about our club.
