| In great position after tonights game, with 2 very tough games coming up.
Chester will need to be clever with his squad over the next few weeks and rotate a few players.
Grix again superb, Johnstone pure class and Fifita unplayable at times and a great foil for Huby's try.
Very happy, plenty to work on but Cas, at their place is a huge ask and a great test to see just how good Trinity are this season.
On a side note, the win against Salford a few weeks ago looks very good now.
I cant believe just how well they are doing

| Yes, will need to be smarter at times though against Cas.
That said, I watched the game last night, and Cas coughed up a lot of possession in their own half in first half hour or so.
Had Wigan have punished those early errors, it could have been a different story.
Could be a good game next werk but need to pressurize and close their halves

| If I had one change I could make, even though we are doing well, is putting Finn back to main place kicker.

I agree, Finn won us several games last year through his excellent kicking even though we were behind on the try count. Williams is the opposite and could easily cost us close games with his poor kicking. I actually think it's a confidence thing, not a lack of ability. I'd certainly have Finn kicking against Cas because we'll need every point we can muster against them

Agree but I think the idea going in this year, is with Finny playing hooker a fair amount and not on the field as much. Let Williams have the chance to get better and better with the conversions as he went on. Otherwise it would be Williams kicking some and then when Finn comes on he takes over, which before the season started isn't the best for either imo. Saying that it's obvious atm Finny is the better kicker and if they're both in the halves he shoud be the man to take them.
Anyway great win for the lads on what could have been a potential banan skin but we did most things right. Got off to a decent start, defended really well and played some attractive footbal at timesl. A few silly penalties and we could maybe of been a bit more clinical if I'm looking forward to the games ahead. Hadley was excellent and Fifita did a monster first stint and came back on in the 2nd half and created a try almost straighht away. Tom was good as usual, as was Grix & Huby, infact everyone did their job tonight.

| Really enjoyed that one - we were never under any serious pressure at any point and handled what Widnes threw at us pretty comfortably I thought.
Could have been more but I think we went a bit too gung ho - If we'd have taken all the kicks from pens and kicked the easy one that Williams missed, we'd have got 40+ points easy.
I'd be worried as a Widnes fan though, didn't manage to get much going at all the whole game, clueless in attack and poor discipline, bleater Betts has a lot of work to do.

The reason why is simple. If you're a genius like me and have always believed Finn to be one of the best playmakers in SL then he would be the goal kicker end of. However to many people were obsessed about the Williams/Miller superstar partnership so the great man was relegated to the bench. This meant he simply couldn't be the kicker. Now common sence has been restored and because he's now on all game he can carry on as the human metronome he is.
I like Williams however this proves all that is Aussie is not gold. Good though our two Aussies are they are not as good as our dumpy pensioner from Halifax - long live king Finn.

Not so sure about you being a genius Vasty , but I have to agree with most of that....Williams has had plenty of time to settle in now, but for me, he is still not giving us much to cheer about. Yes, his tactical kicking is pretty good, but for me that is about it. Has he made a line-break yet ??
As you say, Finn is Mr Consistant when it comes to goal-kicking, so he has to be our no. 1 goal-kicker.
Take the goal-kicking duties away from Williams and let him concentrate on his own game.
Rant over

I think that's a bit Harsh on Williams, he's been the one guiding us around the park and directing traffic for large parts of the games tbh. He's not really a "take the line on" kind of guy but I'm happy enough with his passing and in field kicking.
Agree that Finn is a great option and does well covering 9 and 6 too, think all our pivots give us a nice blend of different options in terms of kicking, running, passing etc.
