How do you think these players would be performing under Chester if he had the time Powell has had with them?...Not much in difference in my opinion

I agree totally with this...This is why I never mentioned the likes of Minikin, Mckeeken etc in my original post,Powell,Orr and Sheridan have worked wonders with them but my main point which can't seem to be grasped by some on here is that half a dozen players didn't need the magic dust of Powell sprinkled on them and would be performing as good as they are for any team as they are for cas

Not if they were at Leeds, which prove the point really and McDermott was a treble winning coach.
So, maybe, we should throw Hardaker into the Powell "magic dust" category as well.

Shenton is a good example - pulled up no trees whatsoever at Saints, but looks quality at Cas.

I'm baffled by the Cas poster who seems intent on doing down the Powell effect at his club - it's perverse.

There would be hell on if Powell "retired" and then went to Leeds.

That did occur to me - it's a RL phenomenon, that someone who is great for your club instantly becomes crap when they announce they're joining a rival. And with Leeds in the doldrums again and Hetherington publicly giving Uncle Bri 4 games to sort it out - you would imagine that Powell would be on his hit list as a replacement.

Doubt he'd go back to Leeds, he has been left to build a team and probably has more of a say in the daily running at Cas than he would have at Leeds. He is also on the verge of bringing silverware to the club if everything keeps going to plan (which on current form you'd say it is).

Can't see him leaving for years, if at all unless something goes wrong.

He would be a unique breed in the modern world.
Remember, he left Fev for Cas, so there must be some draw from the bright lights and whether Cas are on the brink of silverware or not, if he really wants to test his mettle, surely, Leeds, Wigan, Saints or Warrington would be the clubs with most to offer or, maybe a gig down under ?
It depends on the bloke really but, in sport, the best players and coaches, usually find their way to the biggest clubs.

Nah I can't see Powell leaving Cas for Leeds, a club where he was shat on. If he did leave for another SL club it'd be one over the Pennines I reckon.

This invariably does happen though. I remember the Ray Batten leaving us because of a dispute regarding his assistant.
