| Well it's only a few months until planning permission runs out. It'll be interesting to see what happens after that. Does a new application go back in minus the Sporting facilities or does the land get banked until the club gets kicked out of SL and then a new application entered? Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of what going on but one thing I do know is that progress was only achieved by the actions of SWAG, demonstrations and Petitions. With PP due to run out shortly surely that time has come? One thing for sure sat with our thumbs up us jacksies isn't going to achieve anything.

| There has been an effective start on the outline planning. All detailed plans will be under a reserved matters application I would've thought.

| I'm pretty sure it would come out in court, anyone fancy a week in court?
I still find it inconceivable that the Wakey express aren't asking some of the questions offered on here.

| For me it's more about being associated with a council that just happens to be Wakefield who don't care about the social history or connection with our club.
It would appear that the council does not care about Trinity and will never look to support or even acknowledge it's existence.
I have lived in Wakefield 60 years and been a trinity supporter for most of that time.
I have been proud to announce my city whenever asked while working all over the uk and it's always followed with that Rugby country is it Trinity.
If our council does not recognise the advantage of having a professional playing R L club within its city boundaries then Fffffff em.
Tout the name Trinity around and see if any interest can be raised elsewhere.
All councils it would appear are looking not only to increase revenue but to also cut costs and services.
The lack of support from both Leeds and Sheffield councils for Rl seems to outline problems in our sport in general..

The Wakey express are useless, they've no idea what news actually is. Their website is just clickbait tosh and the majority of stuff they report has been broken days before in other sources.

As far back as I remember the Express have always been happy enough to print any possible negatives they could find. Are they not bothered with a minor "scandal" or are they in fear of what they might uncover? Heads in sand springs to mind.

| It would appear that 90% of the content of these threads seems to concentrate on the fact that WMDC (spit) have let down about 4000 Trinity fans of which I am one, but surely the bigger picture is that THEY HAVE BADLY LET DOWN 326,000 other citizens. It was supposedly a COMMUNITY STADIUM for the use of all, and it is for this reason more than any other that this so-called council of ours have behaved disgracefully and should be ashamed of themselves whatever their party politics.

That's the thing, what we actually need it a full stadium with ample parking and 4G/hockey pitches surrounding it. Wakefield needs to establish a football team and a rugby union team as well as a successful rugby league club. We need all of the major sports in the city so young and old can engage and participate all sports

That would be the ideal place for a stadium and pitches, unfortunately that plan was ditched over a decade ago, and now we're left with a half-assed stadium miles from the city which probably isn't going to happen anyway

| Someone mentioned Rugby Union team in the city. How about getting our heads together with Sandal.
As for hockey, wasnt the hockey team based around College Grove, though dont spend much time around there and dont think there is a lot of land round there.

College grove where Wakefield RUFC played, not much room but bet it's worth a few quid

| Yes I thought that M62.
The land moving away from College Grove heading up North Avenue toward Pinderfields is quite vast.
There is also quite a bit of room around Sandal RUFC

Indeed, what we really need is a true multi-use and multi-sports facility from a community stadium, in all honesty, I don't think that's what Newmarket was offering. At the minute we have the support of ≈ 4000 RL fans, but if a new football club could be established in the city, as well as developing the RU clubs to make them push towards the top leagues then we'd see the support for a true stadium for the city increase ten fold. The city deserves sporting facilities and clubs of a quality to match the amazing arts facilities it has
