| Ashurst did fill in, but it wasn't a good thing. He did alright but effectively Miller and Finn filled in too to balance it out.
And we lost Ashurst in the second row which hurt us more.
So he isn't an option.
I played for Wakefield Schools rep team but I didn't play amateur rugby league at open age. Do I still get a go?
What makes it worse is I played rugby union for a lot of years.......for Leeds. I still feel a little ashamed. (but they were actually great days )

| If you played union I'm pretty sure that counts you out as far as opinions go.

He does it with everyone and all the telling in the world will not change a thing. It's been quite reasonable around here for a while. Shame.

I've no idea what a"natural" hooker is if that doesn't qualify or does it have to be on your birth certificate?
doubt that very much

Ha ha from reading someof your debates on here shouldnt be surprised by that. Well the majority of his time at Featherstone he was partnered in the halves with Kyle Briggs before Briggs signed that year at Bradford. At Dewsbury Richard Chapman was predominantly their 9. He played in the 9 shirt for one season at Fev in 2010 when Andy Kain was there, so your turn to prove otherwise

| Quote: vastman "Can't prove it, but I'd say he played Hooker more as a youngster along with L/F on occasions and in recent years has moved into the halves. I don't know his preferred position but you'd have to call him versatile. The hooking role for what it is these days is no stranger to him.
I personally believe in the universal pivot player these days rather than 6,7 and 9. Miller, Wood, Williams and Finn can all play all those positions IMHO, they differ only in attributes, pace, agility, game management, kicking etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 3 out of this 4 play hooker at some point.
Yes an out and out 9 like Moore would be nice but we'll cope (even Moore started as a H/B if I recall).'"
Yes but I can think of countless examples of players that have played in different positions as a younger player as you reference to yourself - Moore started out in the halfs but how many teams would he be a first choice or even stop gap half at? Probably not even a championship side. Would you play Kirmond on the wing? He played all of his junior rugby there? Attributes and skillsets change with time and experience.
Every game I have seen him play he has played in the halfs that's at Fev, Dewsbury, Cas, Wakefield and Ireland. I don't doubt his distribution or the control he will bring out of dummy half but what I do doubt is his toughness to defend down the middle against the big men and the lack of running from dummy half as he is painfully slow and will be read by a marker straight away.

| May seem it but it wasnt a pop vastman. Just agree with the above post. Losing Moore is obviously a massive loss to you as I really rate his playing ability, hsame his mental ability isnt of a committed professional rugby player.
Despite some of the vitriol ive seen about the bulls from some wakey fans, I actually think at the minute you lot are an example that clubs can be run in the right way without sugar daddies. You have built and are now in a position to be signing seasoned pro players actually making improvements to your squad as opposed to unknown Aussies and hoping for the best. Also helps churning out quality youngsters into good first team players and being ina position to fight interest and keep hold of them.
Enjoyed your result on boxing day and wish you all a good season ahead

If you don't likely debates as you call the then don't read them, nobody is forcing you.
I said he'd played hooker throughout his career as it states on his Wiki page and as I know to be the case. I never said it was his main position or his best. I'll gladly accept he's played more in the halves if you say so but the point stands, he's has plenty of experience in the hooking role such as it is these days.
I/we are all fully aware he isn't a "specialist" hooker assuming you still think such a thing exists and if you'd bothered to read the whole thread you'd know that. We'd all prefer a sane and well behaved Scott Moore because he's a better player in that roll but that's unfortunately not going to be the case. Finn has the experience and he will do just fine IMHO if chosen to carry out the job, so it's your tun to prove me wrong or shall we visit this topic again at the end of the season.

No need to take it that way, it was a comment in jest as you like debate which I also enjoy. Have you not read my above post either? Just goes to show sometimes how your opinion is the only one that matters to you and you fire back instantly at people with differing opinions. I wont bother in the future
