I'd expect Simon and Hirst to be off the bench with David Fifita and England starting.
If, and it's a huge IF, the unlikely recruitment of Andrew Fifita were to happen I'd expect one of Hirst and Simon to rotate in and out of the starting 17.
Ashurst is a shoe in for one starting 2nd row berth with A Tupou, Crowther, Kirmond, Malloy and Batchelor accompanying him from time to time. My preference would be for Crowther to get the nod as our other starting 2nd row.'"
Agree with most of that, although who knows what's happening with big Dave but ateotd the club will plug the gap if he leaves. IF Kirmond's sorted out his injuries and is coming into the season in decent physical shape, he'd be in my 2nd row with Ashurst. But we'll see who else is to come in to the forwards because as a guess, they'll be 3 new ones to arrive, especially if Fifita goes.
Hopefully Crowther can make his mark this year on the team. He's another year older, physically developing, another pre-season under his belt and another local lad in the side. Personally though I think maybe at first CC will use him off the bench and see how the lad goes.
As for Arona imo I think he's been underrated by some fans this year. The guys made the 2nd most meters in the team, most tackles, doesn't make many errors or give too many penalties and played 32 games, that's a good first year for an overseas forward imo and I wouldn't be surprised if we see him improve in 2017.

| I noticed on the next page of LE that's Mitch Allgood is on the verge of signing for a SL club. Sounds a more likely deal to me.

Does sound a lot more likely and at 6 4 and 27 years old has a bit of size and experience, just a shame if it happens he's not likely to be playing with fajitas

| Quote: Emley Cat "Why shouldn't we have that dream of such a world class player joining us?'"
Because what we have to offer is:
1. Small crowds
2. Grim surroundings
3. No prospects of silverware
World class players don't join us. End of.
To be fair to us though, world class players don't join any British club anymore. The best British talent heads down there and turn out to be merely average (the forwards excepted,it would seem), and we get the has-beens, the can't-break-through, the young-and-eager.

When I've seen him play in televised matches he's not broke many tackles or gained much yardage to say he is an Ex-NRL prop.
The KR forum 'on the players next season' (and a thread by Eastern Wildcat saying Allgood on the verge of signing for Trinity) also isn't that complementary about him and appear to suggest that Dane Tilse (also out of contract) would be a better signing than Allgood.

I think it was Vastman who said the KR fans aren't complementary about any player that leaves and he does have a point.

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |

Bit harsh on the fans as these are the players who got us relegated the only one who's taken a bit of stick is Walker for obvious reasons in regards to Allgood I expected him to be better and won't miss him to be honest doesn't really break a tackle bit of a hothead Campese turned out to be a bit of a disaster Kelly great on his day but let us down when we needed him Sio and Mantallato will probably leave and they've both been excellent Sio should get an NRL gig as to be honest he was to good for us

Tbf though you're one of the better Hull KR posters, so don't count.

I've only seen him when on the TV and when they came to Belle Vue and tbh from that he was Ok nothing more for an overseas Prop.
Looking at his stats, to say he played 29 games, he only carried 197 times for 1397 meters, he's average gain was decent at just over 7 meters. But that would suggest he either doesn't do many minutes, or he doesn't make many carries a game.
Just as a comparison Scruton who played 24 games, 5 games less, carried the ball 221 times for 1386 meters. So Scruton gets more carries a game but averages less each carry. If we compare him against our overseas Prop. Fifita, who only played 16 games , he carried the ball 159 times for 1133 meters.
As for Tilse, he carried the ball 296 times in 32 games for 1946 meters, av gain 6.80 meters. I mean these are only stats and you can only take so much from them but from the what I've seen plus the above, I'd agree Tilse would be the better signing.
