| I think you are right here No1.
It is a specialist position like half back in my eyes.
If Moore is definately going we need a proper hooker and a good one

| Moore is our hooker next season! He's going nowhere.

I have mentioned a couple of names but if these fail, you look to who maybe able to rotate with Finn.'"
Seriously? You want a utility back to start playing hooker at 33 years of age?
Speaking of hookers, I'm still waiting for the mid-season report you promised on Stuart Howarth!

Aye ok let's start pigeon holeing players, the game moves on.
Grix 32, lacking pace but still got nouse and hands, played at Shudds in their most successful years, why not?
As for Howarth and a mid season update, is he a hooker, probably not but was he prepared to play there to help the team, yes.
A club like Wakey have to move players about, Howarth being the one to bring Fifita in.
At the start of the season people were questioning Sio's role in the team, he moved from hooker and was all of a sudden not a waste of a quota spot.

He may be able to drop in at acting half but, who is going to make the other 25 tackles per game (assuming he makes maybe 15), the guy just isnt solid enough for the defensive workload of the modern day no 9.
This was the area that Godinet struggled with. He was brave enough and never bottled the defensive stuff but, he simply wasn't physical enough.

He's been playing fullback dealing with 1on1's virtually his whole career and probably getting slated for missing them tackles, so mixing it up in the middle should be a breeze for him!

A few people have mentioned Finn moving there. I just can't see it. Apart from good distribution from acting half back which he may be able to do, Hookers need to have a bit of pace and be able to tackle above their weight, they're both Finn's weak points. We haven't a clue if Moore's going anywhere yet but if he is we need a proper Hooker, not makeshift ones.

| Going to go away from the Grix, Finn and Howarth debate and go to how shocking Leeds were this year.
They get Segeyaro and they look a different team.

And that was my point about Howarth earlier this season. He doesn't actually do a great deal wrong, but you've only to look at the impact Scott Moore had when he returned to see how valuable a good hooker is. On Moore, personally I think he'll stay, but even so I reckon we need another hooker. With their financial situation looking bleak again, I'd be enquiring about Adam O'Brien at Bradford. Young, English and a promising looking player.

| Why is the financial position looking bleak. We are debt free apparently, we reduced our rent, we get the same money as the rest of SL and pay out the least in salaries. I guess it is a good way to reduce expectation because historically it was the case but we went through the austerity to be debt free with the benefits that was to bring.

You didn't read it correctly . He says Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "With their financial situation looking bleak again'" . He's talking about Bradford.

I'll quote to you what our owner said to me on this forum and you can take out of it what you want.
Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "I can categorically state we do not get 1.825 central funding. We got 1.495 this year plus 100k towards the academy (which we have to match) and 100k goes into our foundation. Our costs are roughly 3.3 million so the sky money doesn't even cover half!'" '"

We don't though do we. We get the same basic Sky money but then miss out on the increments from 7th place upwards + our income from crowds is one of the worst. Nor counting other clubs sugar daddy input.
I'm sure you already know this though.

Sorry but, I disagree.
How many tackles does any full back make in a game compared to a no 9.
Most hookers are making in excess of 40 tackles a game and you just have to look at the upper bodies of most hookers compared to FB or SO etc.
As I said, I have no issue with with his passing skills but, just dont see him being capable of coping with the work load of the most demanding position in the team.
