| Not sure if this has been posted before but the Yorkshire post interviewed MC and he stated that 8 new players had signed contracts based of course on SL survival, then three and possibly four have agreed terms but just need to sign up. All signed by Brian Smith.

| Quote: asmadasa "More likely to get Liam Finn from Cas...'"
I wanted us to sign Finn two seasons ago but was laughed off the forum even by some who were supposed to know their stuff. Since then he’s done a good job for Cas, not a star player but excellent as part of the glue that holds a team together.
You see Finn is an interesting player because physically he has no assets at all. He’s slow, the wrong shape and has decent but not exceptional skills. Yet he continues to do well. Why because his biggest asset is his brain and unlike the body that only improves with age.
Even now possibly a bit past it he’s be a brilliant foil for Miller who has all the skills and natural gifts but is yet IMHO to develop a Rugby brain.
Let Finn do the kicking and general distribution and organising the forwards stuff and let Miller feed off this and concentrate on finding gaps and exploiting them. Get two centres and wingers to follow Miller everywhere and you have a game plan.
Of course it doesn’t have to be Finn but that kind of steady eddy is what Miller and Godinet need. A good team is not all about every player being brilliant it's about the right players.

| Couldn't agree more Vasty and whilst I can't recall if I was one of the people who laughed your suggestion off the forum two years ago, but I'm with you now; he'd be an excellent partner for Miller, who has all the physicality and dynamism that Finn doesn't. We desperately need a reliable, creative, last tackle option and we've never had that - even with Smith - who was found out for his cut out pass some time ago, leaving him with little or no option but a grubber to nothing.
An old head who can bring some organisation and structure to our game would be a good option - I'd be happy with Finn, or a.n other who fits that description.

Don't think you were. It doesn't matter that much anyways just making a point.
I really liked Finn at Halifax.
He was unlucky in that he signed for us in 2004 when BJ and Rooney were at their peak and never really stood a chance. He was also still quite young so the Rugby brain wasn’t as strong then.I thought he played well in the few games he got a run out but the BV boo boys took a dislike to him.
I really noticed him again in the 2010ish WC when he was really great for Ireland IMHO - something Powell clearly say - then he made Fev look really good for a few years.
I reckon there is a season or two left in him - Sykes style.

| Anthony Tupou would be a good signing to replace Lauitiiti. He's played at the very top for a long time and has a great off load game.

| There can't be much quality out there when money bags Salford end up with Phil Joseph and Mark Flanagan.

Not a bad shout as he will know BS from Newcastle, although the last I heard he was NRL bound.

A bit under whelming really after previous signings, maybe after the comings and goings what's gone on at the club before, nobody wants to go there, unless Koucash is down to his last 100 million.

| Why all the secrecy ? MC said we have signed around 8 players on the proviso we remain in SL. Could it be he just likes teasing
the long suffering supporters.

Would imagine the announcements will be linked to the launch of the season ticket offer
