| I never doubted that we'd be staying - it was a smart move on MC's part to serve notice in line with the break clause and despite the BoI's initial intransigence, it would appear to have had the desired effect; I can only assume that the new rent will be commensurate with the dilapidated wreck it relates to and will take account of the massive cost of maintaining the place as (almost) fit for purpose.
With regard to the NM vs BV situation, I couldn't agree with IA more strongly - NM is the only real option that offers any long term viability, not just for WTW but for additional sports facilities for the City; WMDC and YCP are legally obliged to provide it and it would be perverse for any counter-campaign to help them wriggle out of that obligation. I have to say that it didn't help create a unified voice though, when Rodney Walker went public on a revamped BV - I assume he is back on message?

| So, 2 lessons learnt:
1. Just because you don't know what's going on doesn't mean there is goingnothing is going on.
2. Never ever play poker with MC.

| Great news, still a way to go but we at least retain our identity and presence in the city which IMHO is vital.
BV could be made good be made good, however if the wind is blowing NM way then that's where we must go - we don't have option or not at the moment.
I back NM all the way regardless of any personal preference.

| I would dearly love to stay at a revamped Belle Vue, however, that is nothing more than a pipedream at the moment. Newmarket is real and has been promised by WMDC and the developer, even though it has stalled at the moment and both appear to be trying to wriggle out of it. We must fight to get the promises delivered and who knows, that may eventually lead to a revamped Belle Vue if the twists and turns lead us that way - however, if it is to be Newmarket then that is the only real option we have.

| Once again the old girl lives to fight another day...I have lost count of the number of times over the past 30 years that we have been moving out of Belle Vue, but we always end up staying...perhaps because it is our rightful home ??
Congrats to MC, CB and everyone else at the club in agreeing a deal with the BOI, which now guarantees our short term future.
It is now time to re-sharpen the knives and stick them into Yorkcourt and WMDC in order to guarantee our long-term future...time to put the tin hats on again Messrs. Mackie and Box...we're back !!

| The good news for me is that MC will have negotiated a lower rent which is nice. If we retain SL status ( big if ) SL will require us to make upgrades to BV so rent savings will help. I would have much preferred us to go to Dewsbury which is a far nicer ground and one which we do not need to spend money on. Agbrigg is a total dump, the local population have zero interest in the club, away fans have to park up in surrounding area which is dumpsville Arizona, home and away fans walking to ground have to walk through Agbrigg and dog fouled alleyways. Peter Box does not want Newmarket to happen, staying a BV plays into his hands. Leaving the City going to Dewsbury would strengthen our hand for Newmarket. You could gold plate BV - its still in Agbrigg.

Why not just come out and say it - talk about lumping all the folk of Agbrigg together. It may not be Trump towers or wherever you live but compared to some parts of Leeds and Bradford it's Shangri la!

| Well said Vasty.
Easy up bellycouldtackle. I don't know where you park but it is not all that bad. I've seen worse places.

| Well done to Mr Carter, an excellent poker game. I've said a few times on here that it was a game of bluff, and he could hardly give a public wink that we had nothing worry about.
As for the new ground campaign, we shouldn't be arguing for a redeveloped Belle Vue. That is my preference, but the campaign should be to enforce the condition of a community stadium. Once that is done, those with the cash can decide whether to go for Newmarket or redevelop Belle Vue. Win the first battle, and then decide how to spend the spoils when won.

| I live in Outwood / Stanley area where the interest RL is massive, Agbrigg is a dump and residents have zero interest in RL.

| So we are playing at the oldest rugby league ground in the world but should move because Agbrigg ain't so nice? I've heard better arguments for Newmarket, it has to be said.

Perhaps the club should reach out to the residents local to BV and try to get them interested.
Great news about the ground. Moving out of Wakefield would probably have been a retrograde step. I'm in the BV camp rather than Newmarket but I definitely support the efforts to progress the community stadium. If NM doesn't come off but we can revamp BV I'd be delighted. If NM does come off I guess I'd still be delighted. Most important now - lets just win the next two games!! Onwards and upwards Trinity!
