Quote: wildshot "Sorry Bren but I strongly disagree with both of those points.

Lots of our fans sing without an instrument. All it needs is someone in a group to initiate a song. We have plenty of volunteers.

You don't need a drum for an atmosphere. Last time I was at Huddersfield (sorry meast but it's true) they were banging away on the drum but it didn't rouse up the crowd to start singing or add to the atmosphere.

If anything the atmosphere it does create is blinking annoying. Just like that band Leeds have.

I'd be in favour of banning any instruments being brought into Belle Vue. Virtually everything else is banned for less of a reason.

If instruments continue to be brought in I fear it could at some point become a cause of conflict. All it needs is a drunken idiot who can't tolerate a drum/trumpet anymore and then the said instrument is put beyond use.'"

What he said.

Probably that they didn't, after their Chairman said that it would be like the Vikings landing in Wakey!

Exactly, Bradford fans are nowt to worry about, and they all left after 60 mins... I think a lot also stayed at home to watch on TV in protest at the money super league teams get for these games...

The problem is that the terrace is now covered, which makes it very valuable real estate for those who want to chant and sing. Previously, all the sound went straight up in the air and no matter how loud you shouted, the impact was pretty low. Any idiots were also highly visible, which is not the case now.

The singer and chanters tend to be the most erm 'enthusiatic' fans , from both sides, and putting both sets of those together and giving them the volume that the roof provides its no wonder that the temperature rises. Combine that with the odd glass of sherry and it is inevitable that the cork will pop now and again.

Its dog eat dog now, opposition supporters should be ticketed for the west terrace only, thereby retaining our home advantage for the singers and avoiding the fuse wire from getting too close to any flames.

Some right miserable old buggers on here - you don't want em to have fireworks, booze or even a bit of racist chanting; surely a drum doesn't contravene the fun police rules?!

If the drum was fun I wouldn't mind. But it's not. Sorry Bren! icon_biggrin.gifRUMMER:

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest - since I started going deaf, I find myself much more tolerant of noises that would in the past have driven me round the twist; although clicking pens in meetings still elicits an elbow in the windpipe - I pick that one up like a pipistrel bat for some reason.

I with you on clicking pens Bren - it is extremely annoying and seems to be growing in popularity unfortunately. I've actually grabbed pens and put them on the desk because they don't realise they've been doing it constantly for 10 minutes - honestly.

Other annoying noises including people constantly sniffing. Just get a tissue or handkerchief, one blow and the annoyance for you and me has gone.

Not sure though I think the most annoying is that horrendous 4 tone whistle sound you hear on newish phones now. Please change the setting on your phones.

In comparison to all this, a drum been beaten at our home ground where our vocal fans like to stand is also pretty high on the annoying list for many. It may not annoy you much Bren, yet for many of us it does.

shouldn't you be more concerned that your club has had to release a statement regarding the moronic behavior of your fans again rather than getting giddy on a forum?

Meaty takes a size 11 shoe but wears a size 9, the reason for this is because being a giants fan and a sheff wed fan also, the only pleasure he gets in life is when he takes his shoes off.
