| How long has Belle Vue been crumbling and in a tired, sorry state? 25, 30 years, maybe longer?! Probably one of the catalysts for it's demise was the pulling down of the wooden stands(s) after the Bradford City fire, I think that's when they came down but not actually sure. When have the council ever been truly supportive or bothered about us. How many artists impressions of a new ground have we all seen down the years?! I remember in Sir Rodney Walker's time as chairman seeing grandiose plans that came to nothing as per usual. That was 20 years ago and we are no nearer to having a new stadium, yet in that time how many other stadiums have been built either sharing with a football team or purpose built for rugby? This was inevitable that's the sad thing, the day would come when we basically had nowhere to play because of lack of foresight, or apathy or whatever, probably living off past glories and not being brave or just burying heads in the sand and not looking further ahead than the next season.
One of the great things about our club is it's heritage and history, but it's also one of our negative points because it's like we were so successful in the 60's primarily, it's like we live off that all the time, in my opinion spending too much time looking back recalling past glories than worrying about the here and now and the future. I said earlier it was inevitable, but it really shouldn't have been if past directors, chairmen and the council had got their heads together 15, 20 years ago and looked ahead to now, instead of probably glorifying the past a bit too much.

| Just looked up the Dewsbury Rams ground...small pitch but decent stands, not terribly bad corporate...could definitely benefit from a roof at the terraced end, a corporate block at the other end and a floodlight upgrade.
Where on Earth could they get that from though???

| Shocking news!!! After supporting Wakefield Trinity for 59 years I think it is now time for me to take stock of the situation and seriously consider my future as a Trinity supporter. I find it unbelievable that some folk on here are looking at the prospect of moving to Dewsbury with glee. We will go the same way as the Oldhams, Swintons and Yorks of this world and disappear into similar obscurity. No disrespect to Dewsbury but it is NOT Wakefield. I would have grudgingly gone along to Fev (Wakefield MDC) or Barnsley (good ground and other facilities), but Dewsbury is too retrograde a step to take. A very sad day!

| If this is anything other than a last ditch attempt to flag up the clubs dilemma then I despair.
The procession of owners from back to the eighties should be rounded up & their heads impaled on Chantry Bridge.
Sporting disappointment I can cope with, after all it's the only thing I’ve ever known, but the mismanagement of the clubs infrastructure, by a succession of owners, is truly scandalous.
I know, why not move to Owl Lane & call the club Dewsbury Trinity, I’m sure that little tag line would give a few a warm nostalgic glow & let them feel part of the final solution.

| This makes me absolutely sick to my stomach!
This whole situation has been handled appallingly.
I'm not going to pretend I understand all the ins and outs as I don't. But, as I understand it, while ever we were at BV, we could not be made homeless. We made our selves homeless and now look like ending up at Dewsbury. No disrespect, I actually have a soft spot for the club.
People are saying, it will be fine as long as it's a short term measure. How do these people define short term? Castleford are pretty much ready to go from what I can make out and they are projecting around two years before they will play in their new stadium. We have nothing whatsoever, what sort of time frame does that give us? If the ball started rolling on a new stadium tomorrow, we are realistically three years away minimum. After three years of a nomadic existence accepting board and lodgings from whomever will have us, I dread to think what sort of a following we would take to the new ground.
Barring a last minute back slide from BoI regarding a lower rent (for which I would apologise to MC profusely and in person) he has gambled everything on a game of brinksmanship and lost everything.
I know previous regimes have left him with a pretty crappy hand but, it looks like he didn't like the cards he had and has folded.
It's nothing short of heartbreaking.

| I know many will receive this with with delight but I too think it is time to call it a day. I will see out the qualifying 8's but I have too many memories of my time at Belle Vue many good but some bad. I cannot bring myself to consider that we have now slumped so low that we must look to Dewsbury to be our saviours. We will become what many of us have criticised with London.
I feel if the move goes ahead it just confirms that we do not believe in our own survival in Super League because it is just not big enough both pitch wise or capacity and shows a complete lack of ambition. If we move and are relegated we will never get back to the top league because we will not have the finances to compete. I cannot believe some of you are happy to accept this but I suppose we all have our red line which the club must cross before we consider our support unfortunately they have done it for me and I thought it would never happen.

| Staying at BV without a reworking of the rent structure would mean no club to follow. The end.
Giving notice, perhaps with the hope of a new deal, but with a sustainable deal elsewhere, allows the club to continue.
You'd rather stay at BV and fold?

| It's a shame that some fans are chucking it away, but that's their prerogative.
At least we won't have to put up with the defeatist sulking and whining and naysaying on here.
Will we??

Does it? Are you sure about that? I'm afraid I'm not.
How long do you think we can remain a going concern with tiny crowds and in someone else's ground?
Don't forget, whatever revenue we make at BV is ours. At another ground, we would just get a cut. Someone else's bars, someone else's catering, someone else's car parking. And with a smaller and smaller following, a cut of very little to start with.
I may be very wrong, these are all just my opinions after all. But right now, this is really hurting. I guess I'm just lashing out, apologies in advance if anybody takes offence.

| Sad times. I refuse to accept that WMDC could not take a more active role in this nightmare situation. After all, I remember they were prepared to move heaven and earth to accommodate YCC at Durkar, years ago but can't help the City's only professional outfit.
I would go to Dewsbury reluctantly but only if there is a REAL move towards a new ground, otherwise I will find a new sport/club.

You are wrong
At the moment all that revenue is being gobbled up by the running of the club, maintenance/rent/insurance not to mention also the employment of those people to carry out the functions you suggest we would miss out on, we would have less variable overheads and more fixed cost, which makes it far easier to budget to.
It's not ideal ground sharing, but it's better than what we have at the moment, we can add some value to dewsbury said ground by means of improvement and this may have a positive for both clubs, this has to be a good thing doesn't it?

The biggest problem for me is the lack of identity which will inevitably follow any move to someone else's ground, irrespective of how we arrive in the situation. We move and I just can't see a way forward, only a slow death
